Ron Elliot, a New York-born filmmaker with West Indian and Southern influences, initially pursued engineering but found his true calling in entertainment. Starting in the '90s at Def Jam Records, he transitioned into filmmaking, working for Hype Williams and then enhancing his skills at DuArt Film & Video. As Supervising Producer at MTV's Tempo Network, he produced TV shows and live concerts, working with figures like Russell Simmons and Spike Lee. His editing talents led him to major networks like A&E and VH1.
Renowned for merging entertainment with education, Ron's films, reflecting his experiences as a US Air Force Gulf War Veteran, have won acclaim at film festivals, including Best Feature Film at the Newark International Film Festival and accolades at Cannes. Recently, he won the 2023 Best Picture and Prestige awards for his film Dope King. Ron most recently was the Director of photography for Allblk TV's Series "Judge Me Not" and "Family Portrait," and directed a campaign for Walden University, showcasing his unique blend of creativity and technical skill.
