Cinematographer based in New York. Working on films, television and commercials . Ivan loves to collaborate with directors about concepts, story ideas and style of the project.
Ivan's philosophy in the digital age is that a big part of cinematography is to understand post production process and color. He is proficient in color grading software DaVinci Resolve. And has great understanding of compositing software Nuke. It helps him to communicate with VFX supervisors, directors and producers to achieve the best results for the final image. Ivan has moved from his native Slovakia to New York in 2002.
He shot VFX and model/miniatures unit on studio feature film - The greatest showman with Hugh Jackman. And second/model unit on Amazon Studios - Wonderstruck for Todd Haynes. His firs feature film Sunrise featuring Guy Pearce and Alex Pettyfer was released in January 2024. In Jun 2023 Ivan finished principal photography on second feature film Degenerate with Emile Hirsch, Dir. Luc Walpoth.
