As Southern California attempts to recover from last week’s wildfires, the Annenberg Foundation and I Am Angel are hosting a virtual benefit.

Will.i.am, DJ Derrick ‘D-Nice’ Jones, DJ Hed, Etienne Maurice and other special guests will appear in the ‘L.A. Check In’, streaming live on Instagram and YouTube on Thursday at 6pm from Fyi Studios.

Fashioned after Jones’ Covid-era ‘Club Quarantine‘, the benefit aims to provide inspiration and support for people devastated by wildfires while spotlighting the organizations that are on the front lines helping.

Meanwhile, stars like Paris Hilton, Milo Ventimiglia, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester and Billy Crystal have lost their homes in the wildfires, which broke out in the Pacific Palisades, Eaton Canyon, Malibu, the Hollywood Hills and other areas around Los Angeles County amid a “life-threatening and destructive” windstorm that picked up last week.

As of Wednesday, at least 25 people have died in the Southern California wildfires.

Sheryl Lee Ralph is “grateful” that Hurricane Beryl has passed Jamaica.

The Emmy-winning actress, who is currently on the Caribbean island for her son Etienne Maurice’s wedding this weekend, has continued to share weather updates on X (formerly Twitter). The Category 4 storm was expected to reach landfall midday July 3, according to the National Hurricane Center.

“It looks like the hurricane Beryl has passed and is running like a Jamaican track star off to another race,” she shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. “Thank you all for your good vibes and prayers. We did not get a direct hit and we are grateful but Carriacou needs help.”

Ralph’s newest update comes after she had been posting about the weather situation in Jamaica over the last few days.

“It’s starting. I’m not going to go all the way out there, but it’s happening now,” she said in a video Wednesday.

The 66-year-old actress said that when she heard that her son had been shot, she “collapsed and dropped the phone.”

Apple TV+ dropped the official trailer for “Hijack,” the upcoming thriller series that is set to premiere with two episodes on Wednesday, June 28. The seven-episode season will be available on the streamer, with the remaining five episodes dropping the following five weeks, until the finale on August 2.

An audience member who witnessed the onstage attack on Dave Chappelle at the Hollywood Bowl is speaking out about the scary incident.  Etienne Maurice, a filmmaker and founder of the non-profit WalkGood LA, was seated in the venue's preferred section watching Chappelle perform on May 3 when a man rushed to the stage and tackled the comedian to the ground. Gerren Taylor, who was the star of BET’s Baldwin Hills has died. Taylor died Sunday morning, she was 30 years old.

Though no cause of death has been confirmed, the reality television star battled with lupus and was on dialysis during the time of her death, according to Essence. However, it’s uncertain if Taylor’s condition specifically contributed to her death.

Ray Cunningham, star of BET’s College Hill and Taylor’s friend, shared the news of the reality star’s passing on Instagram. Sunday afternoon, he shared a video featuring Taylor and remembered her in his caption.

“Just got the worst news ever and I’m still not processing it fully,” he wrote. “I’ve known [Taylor] since 2006, the #BaldwinHills cast was like the little sisters and brothers to #College Hill,” he wrote.
