Jeannette Blackwell is an Actress/Director from Akron, OH and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Theater from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. She was featured in their February 2015 issue of THE CENTRALIAN as an 'Alumni on the Move'. Her theater performances have received recognition as Best Supporting Actress in a Play nomination from the Joseph Jefferson Non-Equity Award nominating committee in Chicago; The Lena Horne Award/Best Featured Actress nomination from The Black Theatre Alliance of Chicago, and she received the Best Actress Award in Collaboraction Theater of Chicago's 2001 Sketchbook Festival. She directed the world premiere production of the play, IN THREE DAYS at the Marietta Theatre in the Square, in Marietta, GA and 7 Stages Theatre in Atlanta. She has appeared on GREENLEAF on the OWN Network, STAR on FOX Network, and THE RESIDENT on FOX Network. Blackwell's other talents include singing, dancing, and public speaking.
