Matthew Charles Santoro launched his career as a director when his self-produced sci-fi concept piece, "Offline" went viral, opening the door for his first feature film, "Higher Power," a sci-fi thriller produced by "The Matrix" franchise veteran, Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
Before directing, Santoro has used his talents as a visual effects artist for over a decade on movies like "300," "X-Men," and "The Incredible Hulk." He has also created stage graphics for the rock band TOOL and illustrated album artwork for Nine Inch Nails and rap star 50 cent. He was a creative consultant for Oscar-winning director Ron Howard and writer-director Akiva Goldsman. He also wrote the story for the hit graphic novel "Breath of Bones" with writer Steve Niles, which is now being developed into a feature film. Santoro's hands-on approach to production and understanding of the visual effects world has helped him develop a unique style that continues to defy creative boundaries.
