Stella Stark grew up in Moscow, where she was surrounded by acting,
music, dance and other fine arts. Her first part in the United States
was in a scene with Nicole Kidman in The Interpreter, which earned her
a SAG card. Her roles that followed include playing opposite Mariska
Hargitay in Law & Order: SVU, portraying Paul Giammati's young mother
in flashback in Cold Souls (Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee),
appearing in Celebrity Ghost Stories in Michael Imperioli's episode,
and many roles in works by the independent film community in NYC.
In her teens, Stella found herself in Japan doing commercials, print and other media work for Shiseido cosmetics, the Marui department store, and Asahi beer, among other brands. She also appeared in Christmas shows and hosted European festivals across Japan. In addition, she competed in a survival show for the Nippon Television Network filmed on a deserted island in Cambodia. After returning to Europe, Stella moved to Sweden and was accepted to the oldest acting school in Scandinavia, Calle Flygare Teater Schola in Stockholm. She played classic roles on stage including Ophelia, Mies Julie and Hedda Gabler, and played opposite acclaimed Swedish actor/director Thorsten Flinck in the film Sökarna-Återkomsten. Stella later moved to NYC and studied method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, completing the full-time program.
In her spare time, Stella likes seeing theater and film, writing, composing, jewelry-making, yoga and brushing up on her Japanese.
