Telemundo will add two starry telenovelas, “El Conde: Amor y Honor” and “Vuelve a Mi,” and a ninth season of its hit drama series “El Señor de los Cielos” to its 2023-24 primetime slate.
Telemundo is bringing star Fernando Colunga back to the screen after a multi-year break from novelas for “El Conde,” an established novela format. Telemundo’s spin is a period drama set in the 1930s and ’50s, revolving around a man who is thought to have died in jail but turns up 17 years later to the surprise of his family and associates. Other cast members include Ana Brenda Contreras, Marjorie de Sousa, Chantal Andere and Sergio Sendel. It was shot stages and on location
“Vuelve a Mi” is also a high-budget production, a love-triangle mystery revolving around characters who lives intertwine after a woman’s son is kidnapped. The series, set to run about 90 episodes, stars William Levy,...

“El Señor de los Cielos” will ramp up even more of the war on narcos as the Telemundo series enters its ninth season.
“This is a narco series, however, it deals with a bunch of things happening to the family in relationships [and] in the family ties, but people want to see more of the narco world, so we’re gonna make sure we bring more of that,” Telemundo Global Studios production and development EVP Karen Barroeta told TheWrap. “The war on the narcos between Colombia and Mexico is going to be coming back.”
As the series spotlights the narco world even more than before, audiences might recognize El Cabo, who makes his triumphant return for the full ninth season.
Protagonist Aurelio (Rafael Amaya) also returns better than ever for the next chapter in the series with a new lease on life, settling back into his beloved persona as a true...

Mel McKeon and Laura Myones Ruf have been working side by side so long that it’s common they finish each other’s sentences. That comes in helpful, especially now, as the veteran talent managers have a lot to talk about.
It’s been a year since the two, who started working together in 1997 with Myones starting as McKeon’s assistant, rebranded their McKeon/Myones Entertainment to Afa Prime Talent, a transition that has signaled a new era for their management-production company.
Together, they have maintained a client roster of busy actors including Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Sarah Shahi (Black Adam, Sex/Life), Alona Tal (Cross), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, Invasion), Vivian Wu (Afterparty, Irma Vep), Michael Trucco (Average Joe), Thomas Barbusca (The Mick, Chad), Sean Patrick Thomas (Till, For All Mankind and The Boys spinoff Gen V), Missi Pyle (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Y: The Last Man), Elaine Hendrix...

A Not So Merry Christmas is a Mexican film directed by Mark Alazraki, starring Mauricio Ochmann and Ana Brenda Contreras.
A Mexican version of Groundhog Day (1993), this Netflix production starts well (with a musical number of dance and Christmas carols) and gradually becomes more and more deflated consumed by the inevitable Christmas spirit.
Premise
Chuy has become a bit grumpy and self-centered, having reached midlife, married and father to two. This year he is doomed to relive Christmas day after day in a terrifying space time glitch until he starts appreciating the season.
Movie Review
It has a good premise: a man who hate Christmas that coincidentally falls on the same date as his birthday. May Frank Capra’s everlasting Christmas Spirit forgive me, but it seems that many of us feel like this (even Stephen King), and we relate to the protagonist, and are already fed up with the season,...

The ITV rendition of “Masked Singer” prevailed in the nonscripted entertainment category. Netflix’s “Hope Frozen: A Quest to Live Twice” took the documentary award, marking the first International Emmy honor for a program from Thailand.
“Insecure” star Yvonne Orji hosted the ceremony at Casa Cipriani.

There is no Dynasty without Alexis Carrington stirring the pot.
According to Deadline, Elaine Hendrix will be the third actress to take on the role on The CW's reboot.
The Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll actress will take on the role during Dynasty Season 3, which premiered earlier this month.
She is taking over the role vacated by Desperate Housewives actress Nicollette Sheridan when she departed the series last season.
In order to give the character of Alexis a reason to be off-screen, Elizabeth Gillies, who also portrays Fallon Carrington played the role for a few episodes.

Thankfully, it seems like this new iteration of Alexis will be sticking around since Hendrix is on board as a series regular.
Joan Collins first portrayed the role in the original Dynasty, but these new takes on the character have not been entirely popular with fans of the series.

This is a different bit of casting news for The CW's Dynasty.
Whenever there are cast changes for the reboot, they almost always include a beloved series regular exiting.
However, just hours ahead of Dynasty Season 3, it has been revealed that four cast members have been promoted to series regular status.
TV Line is reporting that Adam Huber, who plays Liam Ridley on the first two seasons of the series, has finally landed a series regular contract.
It's surprising the network confirmed the news before Dynasty Season 3 Episode 1 airing given that Dynasty Season 2 concluded with Liam's fate very much up in the air.
Still, this will be music to the ears of the fans that have been clamoring for more of Liam ever since his debut on the series.
Liam shares a strong connection with Fallon, and one that fans picked up on from the get-go.

We’ll be seeing more of Cristal Jennings in the third season of the CW’s Dynasty. Daniella Alonso, who joined the series in a recasting in July, has been promoted to series regular for season 3, which premieres tonight. Additionally, recurring actors Michael Michele, who plays Dominique Devereaux, Sam Underwood, who portrays Adam Carrington, and Adam Huber, who plays Liam, all will be series regulars in the new season.
Dynasty has gone through major casting changes over the past two seasons. One of the original leads, Nathalie Kelley, departed at the end of Season 1. The role of Cristal was recast with Ana Brenda Contreras, who was replaced with Alonso as the series headed into season 3. Additionally, Elizabeth Gillies recently took over the role of Alexis from Nicollette Sheridan.

Ken Kirby is ready to jump into the soapy prime time drama of Dynasty. The Good Trouble actor is set to recur on the CW reboot of the iconic series in the role of Evan Tate, Trixie’s (Jessi Goei) older brother. And as we all know, Trixie is Fallon’s (Elizabeth Gillies) friend who died ten years ago and whose body was pulled from the lake in the season finale.
Kirby’s casting is refreshing in a time when Dynasty has seen a slew of changes in its casting during the first two seasons. The lead role of Cristal went through two changes. The first time Ana Brenda Contreras replaced original star Nathalie Kelley after the end of Season 1. And recently, Contreras was replaced by Daniella Alonso as the series headed into Season 3. What the heck is going on behind-the-scenes at Dynasty? That burning question was put to The CW’s top exec on Sunday in the wake of last week’s latest casting shakeup, which finds Ana Brenda Contreras departing as Cristal Jennings.

Straight Up Films created the anthology “Power/On” of five shorts focused on encouraging girls in Steam directed by actresses Rosario Dawson, Julie Bowen, Ana Brenda Contreras, Lisa Edelstein, and Nikki Reed. With support from YouTube, the shorts premiered Wednesday at the Google campus in Playa Vista and will be available for streaming on YouTube on April 26.
Each film centers on women and girls working on and interacting with a different technological advancement.
Rosario Dawson told Variety at the anthology’s world premiere, “The point of this series is to show all the different ways people can show up for their family, their friends, their community by pushing themselves when they see a problem. Maybe a solution doesn’t exist, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be created.” She hopes that her work behind the camera will allow girls to see her as a role model, including her own daughter.

The Friday episode of The CW’s Dynasty drama had a big reveal, finally unwrapping who will be the replacement for Nicollette Sheridan as Alexis Carrington on the show. Sheridan departed in March to attend to personal family matters.
Spoiler Alert: Do Not Read Further If You Have Not Seen The Episode
As fans will recall, the manipulative Alexis (then played by Sheridan) had a face-off with her long-lost son, Adam, who revealed that he knew Hank was stamped as her son. Adam walked in on his mother burning the evidence of fake DNA test results that would have proven the Hank contention.
Caught red-handed, Alexis confessed her past misdeeds, even going so far as to label them “despicable” even while saying she was desperate to get her family back.
Adam seemed to accept that apology and told her to burn the rest of the evidence. That’s when he...

Dynasty is down another original Carrington. James MacKay, who played Steven Carrington, Fallon’s (Elizabeth Gillies) gay environmentalist brother, announced on Instagram ahead of tonight’s episode of the CW reboot that he has left the show.
“While Steven had a choice to leave, unfortunately I didn’t,” MacKay said. “There’s a lot of decisions involved in making television, and sometimes they just don’t go your way and you have to live with it.”
While MacKay made it sound like he may be gone forever from the series, I hear that may not be the case. More on that in a bit.

Carrington Atlantic has been around for 100 years, and to celebrate, we got a bunch of twists that are surely going to make Dynasty Season 2 tower above Dynasty Season 1.
Going into Dynasty Season 2 Episode 1, viewers were likely already well aware that Cristal was the one who perished in the fateful fire that rocked the barn on Dynasty Season 1 Episode 22.
This was thanks to Nathalie Kelley revealing that she would no longer be part of the series and the casting of Ana Brenda Contreras as the "real" Cristal. As expected, it took away from the shock factor of Cristal's supposed death.
While Kelley received a lukewarm response for her role as Cristal, I've had a soft spot for the actress since she appeared on UnREAL. An off-screen death is a horrible way to go, but it leaves scope for a return down the line.

Even if you’ve never watched The CW’s Dynasty reboot, this two-minute clip from Friday’s second season premiere (8/7c) should tell you everything you need to know about the Carrington family — which appears to be growing by the minute.
Fresh off last season’s barn-burning finale, TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek begins with Alexis approaching her ex-husband Blake — who’s clearly going through a rough time, as noted by his rough-time beard — to discuss her current financial situation. And by situation, I mean she’s flat broke. Again.
But Alexis’ problems pale in comparison to those of her and Blake’s son Steven,...

Kirby will make her presence felt on Dynasty Season 2.
Australian actress Maddison Brown has joined the cast of The CW soap as Anders' (Alan Dale) wayward daughter, Kirby.
“Kirby grew up in the staff’s living quarters with her father … and sides more with the downstairs occupants than the upstairs," reads the network's description of the character.
"She has a fraught history with the Carringtons, specifically a tempestuous relationship with Fallon that was the reason for Kirby’s exile from the Manor years ago."
"And while she returns to Atlanta to make amends with her father, she will certainly continue wreaking havoc on the Carringtons.”

Kirby showed up in the final few moments of Dynasty Season 1 Episode 22, but the actress was not shown in the episode in an attempt to ramp up the intrigue ahead of the second season.

In the first season finale of Dynasty on The CW in May, Cristal's fate was left up in the air with the character shot and left inside a burning building. It looks like that mystery has been solved, at least in terms of Nathalie Kelley's run as the character.
After playing the role of Cristal Flores — the new wife of Blake Carrington — in the first season, Kelley announced in June that she wouldn't be returning to the show.
The network has now confirmed that telenovela star Ana Brenda Contreras will take over the role in the drama's upcoming second season. Furthermore, Contreras is said to be playing the "real" Cristal, though it's unclear what that means exactly.
Asked for the reason for the switch, CW president Mark Pedowitz said, "it's a wild soap, these are things you do on a soap."
