Michelle was born in London, England, and spent her childhood in Barbados, West Indies, and Muskegon, Michigan. Michelle formerly lived in Chicago and has relocated to Ghana, West Africa. Her ministry continues internationally.
Michelle's name represents her two fathers: George Hammond, from Ghana, West Africa, now deceased and Mr. William McKinney, who lives in Michigan with her mother Norma McKinney. Michelle's middle name is her African name Ayodele (I-yo-day-lay) which means "Joy comes to the house!"
During 15 years in advertising at the Chicago-based Burrell Communications, the largest minority owned advertising agency in America, Michelle created award-winning campaigns for Coca Cola, McDonalds, Procter and Gamble, Schlitz Malt Liquor, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation and worked with numerous celebrity artists along the way including Ray Parker Jr, Lena Horne, Aretha Franklin, Earth, Wind and Fire, Al Jarreau, Peabo Bryson, The O Jays, Cameo, New Edition and more!
She has won numerous awards including a USA Television Award, Windy Award, a Golden & Bronze Philo, and over 20 CEBA (Creative Excellence in Black Advertising Awards) Michelle has sung or performed voice-overs for national radio and television commercials for Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Sprite, Ford Motor Company, Crest Toothpaste and Extra Sugar-Free Gum.
Major influences in Michelle's spiritual growth include: Arch Bishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, Apostle Luther Blackwell of Mega Church in Cleveland Ohio, P. A gifted songwriter/vocalist, Michelle has recorded four solo CD's, It's Amazing, Let's Go In, Come Let Us Worship and With Love. She is the former Emmy Award-winning co-host of the television talk show Aspiring Women for ten years and TCT's 3D Woman for eight seasons.
Also, she has most recently appeared in Roma Downey and Mark Burnett's productions of Women of the Bible on Lifetime, and A.D., The Bible Continues. She presently does inspirational "Truth But Fair" segments on their new network Lightworkers. and LIGHT TV.

She recently penned, produced, and starred in her first screenplay, "First Love."
