John Lueftner is the co-founder and managing partner of Superfilm Filmproduktions GmbH, with offices in Vienna, Austria, and Munich, Germany. He is a member of the European Producers Club and serves as the president of the Association of Austrian Film Producers.
Lueftner has garnered numerous national and international awards for his productions, ranging from the acclaimed "Sendung ohne Namen" to late-night shows like "Willkommen Österreich" and "Ringlstetter," as well as literary programs featuring Thomas Gottschalk. His portfolio also includes series with international prominence, such as "Braunschlag," the international crime series "The Team," "Altes Geld," "M - Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder," and "Ich und die Anderen" for SKY.
Among Superfilm's latest productions are the highly anticipated event series "Kafka," based on scripts by Daniel Kehlmann and directed by David Schalko. Additionally, they are working on the international sports-drama series "School of Champions," currently shooting its second season (2024). Beyond serial formats, Superfilm is involved in realizing selected feature film projects, spanning from crime scenes to arthouse cinema.
