Following an award winning, successful career in the commercial world, Barry McMann began
editing television documentary projects, garnering a Gemini nomination - Best Picture Editing
for Convoy "Death Blow". In 2023, nominations for Best Picture Editing, Documentary - Canadian
Screen Awards and Canadian Cinema Editors Awards - for Evil By Design: Surviving Pete Nygard,
for CBC.
In between editing television programs McMann cut Promos for Alibi Entertainment and Cineflix, as
well as BARMAN FILM CO. projects for various clients including Skechers, Dulux Paints, Credit
Canada and Linux Professional Institute.
Strengths lie in strong stylistic storytelling, excellent music editing skills and inventive sound design.
