Sharri Hefner is an award-winning Southern California-based filmmaker and film professor. She produced Eli Daughdrill's Faith, Sharon Hoffman's Almost and co-wrote Gene Rhee's The Trouble with Romance, (produced by Jennifer Siebel Newsom - Miss Representation). As a member of the independent production entity Hyphenate Films, Sharri line produced Joel Viertel's 'Strictly Sexual' and production coordinated/guerrilla marketed Mora Stephens' 'Conventioneers', which won the Independent Spirit Awards' John Cassavetes Award.
Sharri has produced several award-winning shorts, including Nathan Butera's 'Brother' and Janet McIntyre's 'Bird in Hand'. Sharri has also worked as a field producer for E! Entertainment's 'True Hollywood Stories' series. As an artist, Sharri has received grants and scholarships for her work, including the American Women in Radio and TV, Theresa MacNeil Memorial. As an actor, Sharri starred in the world premieres of Emmy-winning Peter Lefcourt's 'La Ronde De Lunch and Sweet Talk' and played Curley's Wife under the direction of Los Angeles Theatre Center founder Bill Bushnell.
Sharri teaches producing at California State University, Long Beach. Sharri received her MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Long Beach.
