It’s been nearly a week since a series of tornadoes struck the Nashville area on March 3rd, causing widespread damage in the city’s densely populated neighborhoods — including the destruction of beloved music venue the Basement East — and killing more than two dozen people in the surrounding area. Volunteers have been working overtime to clear streets and yards or bring food and other necessities to affected areas, but it’s going to be a long road to recover and rebuild.

We weren't surprised that Candace Cameron Bure still remembers all the words to the Full House theme song "Everywhere You Look" considering she played D.J. Tanner for eight seasons on the beloved sitcom.
The tune had all the elements of a good opening – it immediately got you excited for your favorite show to begin, was instantly recognizable and entirely unforgettable.
While we wait to see if "Everywhere You Look" will return as Fuller House's opener, we're happy to run down more of the best theme songs over the years, limiting ourselves to iconic opening sequences featuring vocals (sorry American Horror Story,...

Mad Men is ending, and while the show's opening credits are inseparable from RJD2's haunting theme, there was a time when that beat was known only as "A Beautiful Mine," by RJD2 and rapper Aceyalone.
Matthew Weiner originally wanted a Beck song to play as the show's opening theme, but the singer turned down every offer from the show's producers. Weiner was driving and listening to NPR one day when he heard "A Beautiful Mine" played as segue music between two stories and was immediately struck by it, though the version that ultimately was used was so different from...

After seven years of murder, intrigue and fang-banging, HBO’s True Blood finally ended this week in explosive fashion. Whether you thought the finale was satisfying or not, it’s impossible to deny that the show has been consistently entertaining along the way. Many will miss the exploits of Sookie Stackhouse and the other denizens of Bon Temps who were forced to adapt once vampires emerged from the darkness to co-exist with humans.
The award-winning show has had more than its fair share of controversial moments, particularly in its depiction of graphic violence and sexuality, but praise has also been given for its racial diversity and portrayal of Lgbt characters. Despite some criticism, True Blood has enjoyed consistently high ratings since its debut, becoming one of HBO’s most viewed shows since The Sopranos, their most popular program to date.

I can just hear that twangy song playing right now in my head, can’t you? Yes, we’ll soon be losing the weekly replay of the epic theme song for Game of Thrones, in favor of the dulcet tones of Jace Everett singing “Bad Things”, when True Blood returns for Season Six on June 16.
To help get us ready (as if we weren’t), HBO has released a new TV spot containing mostly footage we’ve seen in the trailer but if I’m not mistaken, a few little snippets of new footage as well. There’s a new poster, and they’ve also issued a press release that gives a teeny bit of info about the season in general, followed by synopses of the June episodes.
The synopses are fairly spoilery, so if you love spoilers, dig in. If not, it’s pretty easy to see where they are without reading them,...

Nothing puts you in the mood for your favorite movie or television show better than a great theme song. And nobody, and we mean nobody, does theme songs like the horror genre does. We've got 11 of the best here to prove that point.
"The Sopranos" had a great intro with "Woke Up This Morning" by Alabama 3, and there have been some pretty great cartoon theme songs like "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons". Hell, even the old "Batman" theme song was a damn catchy tune, but honestly, horror dominates memorable theme songs. Just take a look at the list below, and we didn't even include some great ones like "Pet Sematary" by The Ramones, Dokken's "Dream Warriors" (written for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors) or "He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)" by Alice Cooper, written for Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives. (Consider those the honorable mentions!

We count down 15 atmospheric modern TV titles sequences of the last 10 years, from big hits like Game Of Thrones to Dexter and more...
What makes a great title sequence? There are numerous shows with fantastic theme songs (Red Dwarf), evolving sequences (Fringe), handy introductions to the show (Once Upon A Time) or humour (Futurama). But for a truly great title sequence, all these things have to come together with an added splash of sheer invention and creativity, resulting in a sequence that perfectly expresses the spirit of the show (preferably without inducing headaches or nausea – Homeland has a brilliantly inventive title sequence that, unfortunately, can be physically uncomfortable to watch). Any sequence that simply shows clips of the actors in character, no matter how well acted or artistically put together, will not make the cut here.
The sequences in this list all stand out because theme song,...
