Actor and writer Bashir Gavriel always knew his path, but understanding the financial challenges of the entertainment industry, he took a more practical route at first. He delayed moving to Los Angeles to attend nursing school, earning his credentials as a cardiothoracic registered nurse. Once established in his medical career, he moved to Hollywood, where he built an impressive acting resume with over 30 credits spanning nine networks. An alumnus of Second City, Bash discovered his love for writing through sketch comedy, which eventually opened doors to a successful career behind the camera.
In 2024, Bashir is a producer for Hulu's true-crime series *Murdaugh Murders*, created by Michael Fuller, with Nick Antosca and Patricia Arquette as executive producers. In 2023, he served as co-producer on a *Bosch* spin-off for Amazon and was previously the executive story editor on Peacock's *Dr. Death*, produced by Patrick Macmanus. Bash has also written for Hulu's *The Girl from Plainville*, working alongside Liz Hannah and Patrick Macmanus. Additionally, he wrote and produced two episodes of CBS's *Good Sam* with Jennie Urman's executive producing. He co-wrote and produced the second episode of *Power: Raising Kanan* for Starz with Sascha Penn. His development work includes projects with CBS and a pilot script sold to USA Network/UCP. Beyond his writing and production achievements, Bash brings a unique perspective as a former cardiothoracic nurse and proudly embraces his Jamaican heritage.
