During Saturday (29 October) night’s Halloween show, the “Sax” singer performed a Salsa to Beyonce’s “Break My Soul”, scoring 32 points on the leaderboard.
However, East found herself in the dance-off once again against EastEnders actor James Bye and his partner Amy Dowden, with both pairs having to perform for a second time.
When East and partner Cito Coppola went to perform, however, their routine was briefly halted and the couple were allowed to restart. They danced again, then were voted through by judges, who made no reference to the incident.
The BBC confirmed that the couple had been allowed to restart during the pre-recorded results show as East and Coppola had “not begun to dance” before the incident occurred.

Rob Kazinsky has weighed in on the current debate surrounding blue tick verification on Twitter, following Elon Musk’s takeover.
The actor, who played Sean Slater in EastEnders as well as Macklyn Warlow in True Blood, emphasised the importance of being able to easily identify genuine accounts on the social media platform in an extended thread on Wednesday (2 November).
This followed Musk’s recent announcement that he’d charge verified users 8 (£7) a month to retain their blue ticks.
Kazinsky spoke out against this idea by sharing an example of a shocking situation that involved someone impersonating him and speaking to young fans.
“Years ago, before verified accounts were a thing, back when I was on EastEnders, I was contacted multiple times by parents of children who had been ‘conversing’ with me online,” he explained.
“11-15-year-old children that had been talking with a fake me. I was informed one of these children went missing.

Strictly Come Dancing fans have claimed that Sunday (30 October) night’s elmination was “unfair” on one contestant.
EastEnders star James Bye was the latest celebrity to hand in their dancing shoes after he found himself in the bottom two with singer Fleur East.
Strictly fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment at the result and claimed the actor was stitched up by his song choice and costume.
James and professional partner Amy Dowden danced the Charleston to “Bumble Bee” by Lavern Baker, complete with bee costumes, for a Halloween-themed show. The relevence of the choices, however, left some fans confused.
“I think James was ill-served by the song and theme this week. The bumblebee thing is ridiculous and not at all Halloween and nobody knows the song,” wrote one viewer.

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Tony Adams has apologised to head judge Shirley Ballas for telling her to “go home” after she criticised his routine.
The former Arsenal player performed a Cha Cha during the BBC centenary special on 22 October, and was filmed saying “go home Shirley” after she gave him and his pro partner Katya Jones a low score of four.
In Saturday night’s live show (29 October), Adams’s Quickstep went down well with the judging panel.
Addressing his previous comments during an on-air debrief with host Claudia Winkleman, before the judges gave him his latest scores, Adams said: “I just want to say to Shirley as well, I made a comment last week. I ain’t got a clue. I accept a four, I accept an eight, it doesn’t really matter.
“I don’t understand. I listen to her [Jones], but I’ve got to apologise for my comment.

James Bye has become the fifth celebrity to leave the ongoing 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The EastEnders star was eliminated on Sunday 30 October along with partner Amy Dowden, after facing off against Fleur East and Vito Coppola in the dance-off.
For Halloween Week, Bye and Dowden performed the Charleston to “Bumble Bee” by Lavern Baker, but the judges ultimately ruled in favour of East.
All four judges voted in favour of East, with Craig Revel Horwood saying: “Well, it’s my responsibility to save the better dancer and the better dancer tonight for me was Fleur and Vito.”
“For me, there were different levels of dancing on the dance floor, and I have decided to save Fleur and Vito,” ruled Motsi Mabuse.
Confirming the verdict, Anton Du Beke said: “I thought both couples danced better on Saturday night. They didn’t reproduce their best performance, but it doesn...

Saturday (22 October) night’s show was a BBC 100 special as part of the channel’s centenary celebrations.
During the episode, the remaining contestants danced to songs and theme tunes inspired by the BBC’s biggest shows of the last 100 years, from Doctor Who to Grange Hill.
Following James Bye’s Foxtrot to the EastEnders theme tune, host Winkleman made a cheeky dig at the last week of chaos within the government that saw Liz Truss resign as prime minister after just 44 days.

A number of former EastEnders stars are returning to Albert Square to film scenes for Dot Cotton’s funeral.
June Brown, who portrayed the long-running soap character, died in April at age 95.
Although she’d played the role since 1985, Brown stepped away from the programme in 2020, putting her departure down to feeling underwhelmed by the recent storylines she’d been offered.
Dot’s final appearance on the show took place in January 2020 via a voicemail left for Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), explaining that she had fled Albert Square for Ireland.
In light of Brown’s real-life death, the soap will announce the character’s demise in the coming weeks.
As a way of paying respects to both the character and the actor, EastEnders will air special funeral scenes saying goodbye later this year, which will see some characters return for the occasion.

While he remains at the bottom of the leaderboard with 18 points after Saturday’s episode (8 October), he certainly won the trophy for the most entertaining dance of Movie Week.
During his performance of the songs “You Sexy Thing” and “Hot Stuff” from 1997 film The Full Monty, (which actually references Adams), the contestant proceeded to pull his trousers down to reveal some sparkly red underwear.
He then ripped his shirt off, which earned him a standing ovation from the crowd, including former Arsenal footballer David Seaman.

Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens, with a new batch of contestants learning the art of ballroom dancing for the first time.
The BBC competition series returned on Saturday (24 September), with 15 celebrities hitting the dance floor with their pro partners for the first time.
It was a night of varying dance abilities, with Will Mellor and Hamza Yassin sharing the top spot on the leaderboard with an impressive 34 out of 40 marks each.
Tony Adams, meanwhile, is currently at the bottom end with just 15 poionts for his Arsenal-themed tango.
However, everything could still change during Saturday (1 October) night’s show, as the scores from last week will be added to the marks gained by the contestants for their second dances.
The new leaderboard will then be combined with the public votes, with the bottom two couples facing the dreaded dance off and the first couple leaving the competition.
