Director Kunal Deshmukh’s crime thriller film ‘Jannat 2’ marked its 12th anniversary in Hindi cinema on Sunday, prompting actress Esha Gupta to celebrate the occasion by sharing a video.

The film served as a spiritual sequel to the 2008 film ‘Jannat’, which starred Emraan and Sonal Chauhan. It depicted the journey of a gambler who transitions into a cricket bookie based on his sixth sense for the game.

Actor Ishwak Singh, who is known for ‘Paatal Lok’ and ‘Rocket Boys’, will be seen sharing the screen with the Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor in the upcoming social comedy film ‘Sarvagunn Sampanna’. The movie marks the directorial debut of Sonali Rattan.

Ishwak has already completed shooting for his part in ‘Sarvagunn Sampanna’, a source informed. The film is set in the 1990s and will see Vaani portraying the character of a porn star lookalike in the film.

Speaking about Ishwak’s involvement, a source in the production said: “Ishwak is the perfect fit for this role. His chemistry with Vaani Kapoor will undoubtedly captivate audiences, and we are excited to present their fresh pairing on-screen.”

Mumbai, Nov 13 (Ians) Actress Radhika Madan has turned to an old Hindi song featuring Tabu and Suniel Shetty for inspiration, while posting a quirky caption for her new Instagram picture.

In the image, Radhika is seen posing on a jet ski. As caption, Radhika wrote: "Main Ladki Po Po Po".

The words form the starting line of a song filmed on Tabu and Suniel Shetty in Priyardarshan's 2000 comedy hit, "Hera Pheri".

Actors Sunny Kaushal, Radhika Madan, Mohit Raina and Diana Penty have bagged a love story titled Shiddat - Journey Beyond Love.

While Radhika is paired opposite Sunny, Mohit will be seen with Diana in the film produced by Dinesh Vijan, who has delivered three hits Hindi Medium,?Stree?and Luka Chuppi.

Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, the film will go on floors in September and will be shot across Punjab, Paris and London.

New Delhi, July 19: Utv Motion Pictures and director Kunal Deshmukh have finally zeroed in on the title "Shaatir" for their thriller, starring Emraan Hashmi as a conman.

The movie was in title trouble. When the makers checked to register "Shaatir", they realised that the title already belonged to Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd.

This was a huge cause of concern for the makers. Incidentally, when Utv officials met Rohit Shetty for a casual meeting since the two are working on "Chennai Express", this topic came up.

Writer-turned-debutant director Shagufta Rafique has ambitious plans for her film (titled Rose), which is based on the theme of a raped housewife. While she hunts for the young woman who plays the part, she may also have to search for the man who would be playing the male lead.

Reason being the ultra hectic schedule of Emraan Hashmi, her first choice.

"If Shagufta plans to begin her film this year, it is virtually impossible to rope in Emraan," says an insider, "He just doesn't have dates. Now that Ghanchakkar is out, he would step into the promotion of Ungli. Then there is Badtameez Dil with Kareena Kapoor, for which he begins shooting soon. In between there is also his international flick White Lies which would be readied for release."

Mumbai, July 1: Pakistani actress Humaima Malick, acclaimed for her role in "Bol", has reportedly been approached for Kunal Deshmukh's next directorial venture that features Emraan Hashmi in the lead.

Deshmukh's yet untitled film will go on floors by the end of July.

A source close to the team said: "Humaima has been approached, but nothing is official right now. A screen test has been conducted, Utv and Kunal are looking at a fresh pairing for Emraan and if things would fall in place, in all probability she will step into the project."

Deshmukh had earlier directed Emraan in "Jannat" and "Jannat 2".

Mumbai, July 1: Acclaimed composer Ilayaraja's son Yuvan is ready to debut in Bollywood as a music director for actor Emraan Hashmi's next film, to be helmed by Kunal Deshmukh.

Yuvan's talent has been compared with that of Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman.

"Yuvan is one of those music directors, whose music has universal appeal. A bit like A.R. Rahman, who did great in Tamil movies, then other southern languages, then Bollywood music and then Hollywood. Yuvan is a similar talent," Manish Hariprasad, creative director, Studios, Disney Utv, said in a statement.

"Well, not every 26-year-old music director can boast of 100 films under his belt," added Hariprasad.

New Delhi, May 14: The hit pair of actor Emraan Hashmi and director Kunal Deshmukh will team up for a masala entertainer.

The actor-director duo, who churned out hits like "Jannat" and "Jannat 2", is coming together again for the untitled movie to be produced by Utv Motion Pictures. It is expected to go on the floors after the release of Emraan starrer "Ghanchakkar".

"Together Emraan and Kunal are a knockout team...This will be our second film with Emraan post 'Ghanchakkar'... We are confident that this hit actor-director 'jodi' will entice the audiences with nothing less than a full-on masala entertainer," Siddharth Roy Kapur,.

Even though, the screen writer Kapil Chopra, who filed a case against Bhatts alleging plagiarism, hasn't got credit or payment as a writer of Jannat 2, he hasn't lost the battle entirely. The High Court has granted an interim injunction on the satellite release of the film till the further order. This means Bhatts won't be able to release the film in spite of depositing Rs. 10 lakhs that court demanded earlier. A source close to Kapil reveals, "On 27th July, the Film Writers Association had submitted a detailed report to the court whereby it has said there are striking similarities between Kapil's script and Jannat 2. They have found there has been not only the infringement of the copyright but breach of confidence too. They referred to the emails exchanged between Kunal Deshmukh and Kapil and agreed that it's indeed a copy. Subsequently, the court passed the order of injunction...

The troubles for Jannat 2's satellite release just don't seem to end. First it was the Censor Board not allowing the telecast of the film before 11pm and now the Bombay High Court has asked the Bhatts, who are the producers of Jannat 2, to deposit Rs. 10 lakh if they want to go ahead with the TV release of the film. The Bhatt's have sold the satellite rights of Jannat 2 to Star TV, which has not yet decided on the world TV premier of the film.

On Monday, a division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice Nitin Jamdar passed the order while hearing a petition filed by Mumbai-based writer Kapil Chopra alleging copyright infringement against filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his brother Mukesh Bhatt.
