Ryan is an accomplished visual effects supervisor, filmmaker and artist
living and working in the Presidio of San Francisco and his hometown of
Los Angeles California.
Ryan began seriously pursuing digital art in high school. After winning many awards in the areas of art and technology, Ryan received a grant based on a submission of work and decided to relocate to San Francisco to study at the Academy of Art University.
Ryan excelled in studying both film making and visual effects and before graduating, produced an award winning reel of spec commercials.
Since college, Ryan has contributed his talents to a wide array of titles in the motion picture and television industry.
As a visual effects artist and supervisor, Ryan has had the privilege of working directly with such industry legends as Francis Ford Coppola, Walter Murch, Dennis Muren, John Knoll, Mark Stetson, Guillermo Del Toro and others. Over the years Ryan has also worked in commercials as an inferno artist, composting supervisor, visual effects supervisor and director. Ryan executed some of the more memorable shots in the film Pan's Labyrinth, some of which contributed to an academy award for special effects. The past few years have found Ryan working on films at American Zoetrope and Industrial Light & Magic and most recently, VFX supervising productions in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Europe.
