Big Sky Season 2 will feature the familiar face of a dead character.

During the ABC drama's panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, it was revealed that John Carroll Lynch had closed a deal to return for the new episodes.

If you watch Big Sky online, you know the villainous Montana state trooper Rick Legarski was killed around the midway point of Big Sky Season 1.

Legarski was a villain, who was heavily involved in the mystery throughout the opening season, but how can the actor return if the character is dead?

Well, Legarski was revealed to have a twin on the freshman season, so it's possible we will be meeting his brother.

Either that or Legarski evaded the hospital and was replaced by his brother or something. This being Big Sky, there's truly no telling what's around the corner.

Right in the middle of Big Sky‘s panel at TCA on Thursday, actor John Carroll Lynch popped up on the screen, to announce that he will be returning for Season 2.

Details on his return are being kept under wraps. The character Lynch played in Season 1 was sex trafficking Montana state trooper Rick Legarski, who was shot in the head in the Season 1 finale. Even if he’s dead though, showrunner and executive producer Elwood Reid noted during the panel that Legarski has a twin, as alluded to in the first season.

Reid also confirmed that this season’s “new baddie, who is going to bring in more baddies,” is Ren, the character played by new series regular Janina Gavankar.

The new HBO comedy from the creators of Girls puts Jennifer Garner in charge of the camping trip from hell.

Camping is a new limited series from writers and executive producers Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, the team that gave us Girls, but it’s safe to say that this HBO series is a little less like that and a little more like Lord of the Flies. Based on a British series of the same name created by Julia Davis, Camping follows the controlling, obsessive yet pain-addled mom, wife and “minor Instagram star” Kathryn McSorley-Jodell as she leads a group of friends on a camping trip to celebrate the 45th birthday of her compliant husband Walt.

But Kathryn’s meticulously over-organized excursion does not go the way she had hoped, thanks to various tensions surfacing within the group itself and the arrival of an unexpected guest: Jandice...

In the new HBO series “Camping,” Jennifer Garner plays a mom, but Kathryn Siddell-Bauers isn’t maternal — she’s militarized. Kathryn is a hyper-organized Type A personality who is brutally focused on making sure everything goes according to plan, even if it means being consciously or unconsciously cruel to the people in her life — a role that plays with Garner’s well-known public persona as a caring mother.

So making that performance happen, according to director/co-creator Jenni Konner, wasn’t easy. “It’s really hard to take the sweetness out of Jen Garner,” she told IndieWire.

And according to Garner, “I was really terrified. A lot of the time… I loved having people so clear in their vision, but it also took a lot of trust.”

There is a moment towards the end of the Camping premiere when Walt (David Tennant), the man whose birthday is supposedly the reason everyone is gallivanting about in nature, turns to his anxious wife Kathryn (Jennifer Garner) to reassure her. “It’s pretty nice!” he exclaims while wading into the shallow waters of a nearby lake. Instead of feeling her many anxieties suddenly dissipate, however, Kathryn calls out to her husband one last time before giving up.

In many ways, this brief exchange feels like a microcosm for all eight episodes of Camping, four of which HBO granted reviewers access to. The show centers on Kathryn, a woman who has suffered intense bouts of chronic pain and multiple surgeries to boot.

If I hadn’t known that HBO’s new comic miniseries Camping was based on a British show (created by Julia Davis), I would assume Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner had conjured it on a dare. Their previous show, Girls, was beloved and reviled in equal measure for just how uncomfortable it could be to watch, particularly whenever Dunham’s Hannah Horvath was pushing the limits of socially acceptable behavior.
