Any day that gives us an excuse to preach the gospel of S.S. Rajamouli's "Rrr" is a good day. In our review of the film, Hoai-Tran Bui described the Telugu-language action film as "a maximalist epic that puts Hollywood blockbusters to shame," and that's putting it lightly. "Rrr" ended up on the top 10 lists of a majority of the /Film staff for 2022 releases, and we have happily joined the chorus of fans anxiously awaiting the live performance of their Academy Award-nominated song, "Naatu Naatu."
For as many incredible, brain-melting, absolutely remarkable moments within the whopping over three-hour runtime of "Rrr," it is the dance sequence that truly captivated cinephiles all over, and had fans hook-stepping their way around the globe. "Naatu Naatu" as a song is undeniably catchy and paired with a dance that makes you want to get out of your seat and try it yourself, a truly...

As India bagging a Golden Globe for the number ‘Naatu Naatu’ has made headlines, the Indian attire sported by the ‘Rrr’ family too grabbed eyeballs at the prestigious event. ‘Rrr’ brought home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song in Motion Picture for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’, however, the film lost out the bigger share of the pie – that of the Best Motion Picture Non-English award to the Argentine film ‘Argentina, 1985’.
It was Ram Charan, his wife Upasana, M M Keeravaani, his wife Srivalli S S Rajamouli and his better half Rama Rajamouli, who unlike any other global star chose to flaunt the Indian wear at the ceremony.

The dance-off is a riveting, time-honored combat scenario — and no more so than in the exhilarating “Naatu Naatu” (“spice”) extravaganza in the Indian Telugu-language blockbuster Rrr. In director S.S. Rajamouli’s 1920s-set action drama epic, the musical number pits the lead duo, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (N.T. Rama Rao Jr.) — based on real-life anti-colonialist revolutionaries — against an army of smug British colonizers.
The battle kicks off after the pair — still unaware of each other’s true identities and intentions — embark on another classic movie theme: a pure bromance, with Raju helping his new best friend impress a love interest, the governor’s niece Jenny (Olivia Morris). After Bheem, still outfitted in his Muslim shalwar kameez disguise, accepts her invitation to an afternoon dance at the Gymkhana Club, Raju graciously offers one of his suits. After all, as a member of the Indian Imperial Police,...
