Patrick Shawn Bennett(I)
- Producer
- Director
- Writer
Growing up in southwest Louisiana, Patrick Shawn Bennett was a huge movie enthusiast from an early age watching reruns of old westerns and cliffhanger serials with his dad. He got a hold of an old silent Super 8 film camera and made short films with his friends and kids around the neighborhood. Heavily influenced by the original 'Star Wars' and 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' he knew that he wanted to become a filmmaker someday.
In 2000, after graduating with a Mass Communications degree, he moved to the Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas area where he got involved in many independent film and TV productions for nearly a decade. He returned to Louisiana and started the Lake Charles Film Festival, the Calcasieu Serialfest, and the Calcasieu Parish Short Film Festival.
Besides directing the film festivals, Patrick is active in local film and screenwriting groups and continues to make his own short films and web content. He plans to begin shooting feature films in the near future.
