"Why am I here, Jason?" Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for Open Your Eyes, a new film from Canadian filmmaker Greg A. Sager. This hasn't played at any festivals and drops on VOD at the start of June for those interested. Open Your Eyes is described as "The Shining meets The Dark Half" – the film is a genre-bending blend of thriller, mystery, drama, and horror. In a rush to complete an overdue screenplay, a screenwriter's past explodes into the present and his world begins to unravel... When he meets a neighbor from down the hall, everything begins to spin out of control, and he struggles to hold onto hope. Starring Ry Barrett and Joanna Saul, with Suzy Giannakopoulos. This looks like an intense twist on the challenge of being a writer and the challenge of holding onto your mind as everything becomes stressful. Have a look. Here's the...

It’s been two years since Greg A. Sager made his directorial debut with The Devil in Me (aka Devil Seed), a slice of demonic Canadian terror that made my Top 10 films of the year list and I’ve been eagerly awaiting his follow up ever since. Well now the wait is over as Kingdom Come, another superb supernatural horror from the Great White North, hits DVD and VOD across North America.
Starting out in a similar vein to the original Saw movie, Kingdom Come sees a group of strangers wake up disoriented in a seemingly abandoned hospital. However unlike that franchise, this group of strangers soon find themselves being stalked by a supernatural force with sinister intentions.

We’re getting closer and closer to The Witching Hour, but the thrills of Halloween never end with the horror genre! Horror continues to scare audiences Dec. 2, when “Kingdom Come” is released on DVD and VOD. The film comes from filmmaker Greg A. Sager (“Devil Seed”) and promises to be “one of the most frightening films you’ll see this year!” The description states that it’s a film that’s like “The Shining” by way of “Predator,” so if you’re fans of either of those, you’re in for a great time. The film focuses on a group of strangers who find themselves the prey of a strange force. “A group of strangers [ Read More ]

Greg A. Sager was the director of possession thriller Devil Seed. Devil Seed was a rehash of several Exorcist tropes, which was not well received by this critic. However, everyone loves a comeback. And, Sager is returning to horror with his next title, Kingdom Come. Kingdom Come is a mysterious story. Several strangers find themselves trapped in a mental health hospital, after being abducted. While gathering their wits, they are assaulted by all manners of demons and ghostly entities. Why were they chosen and more importantly, how will they escape? Director: Greg A. Sager. Writers: Geoff Hart and Greg A. Sager. Cast: Michelle Argyris, Shantelle Canzanese, Vanessa Broze, Kevin Jake Walker and Wayne Conroy. There have been a number of possession styled thrillers released since 1973's groundbreaking The Exorcist. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), Drag Me to Hell (2009), The Last Exorcism (2010) and recently The Devil Inside (2012) come to mind. Devil Seed does nothing to improve this genre. Devil Seed, much like its former name The Devil Inside Me, does not set itself apart from exorcism films of the past. Worse, this supposed horror tale does little to create tension nor scares. The story has been written many times before. A young woman enters a haunted locale. Here, she is raped by a demonic figure, possibly Satan. She becomes pregnant with the unclean while tormenting her two roommates: Breanne (Vanessa Broze) and Jessica (Shantelle Canzanese). Even her boyfriend, Brian (Kevin Jake Walker...

I’ll admit it, when I saw the original synopsis for The Devil In Me (which is also known as Devil Seed, which tells you a lot more about what happens in the movie than the UK title) I thought it was merely a knock-off of The Devil Inside and the similar “possession” flicks that have been flooding the market recently. However now having sat down and watched the movie my opinion has completely changed… Yes, The Devil in Me is yet another film about possession, but it stands head and shoulders above its competition thanks to a superb performance by Michelle Argyris as Alex – the young student undergoing the supernatural torture – and some fantastic creepy imagery from director Greg A. You rarely run across trailers that are three-and-a-half minutes long anymore. Back in the day, you got them all the time. Nowadays, it’s practically unheard of. Enter Director Greg A. Sager’s 2012 horror effort “Devil Seed”, a film that isn’t afraid to lay everything out for you in the trailer. Is it pointless to pack your preview with so much exposition? Sure it is. Nobody really needs a three-and-a-half minute preview of anything. But that doesn’t mean somebody can’t make one. Here’s what this flick is all about: Alexandra is a lively college student returning to live with her roommates Jessica and Breanne after the summer holidays. After a night of drinking, Alex agrees to a psychic reading to learn about her future with her boyfriend, Brian, but during the reading a dramatic turn of events causes Something to go drastically wrong.
