Jonathan Varjabedian is a California-based physician, author, and accomplished photographer with a lifelong passion for visual storytelling.
Jonathan's photography career spans decades, including years spent documenting the Detroit blues music scene in the 1980s and 1990s. More recently, his focus on street photography, primarily in London and New York City, has earned him the prestigious Leica Mastershot recognition. His work has been featured in Condé Nast Traveler, Juke Blues Magazine, Living Blues Magazine, and numerous other respected publications.
His book, My Dear Son Garabed (published by Gomidas Institute Press), is a result of his deep interest in Ottoman Armenian culture, particularly the village of Efkere in central Türkiye - a subject he has extensively documented on his dedicated website.
