Millions of people live and die without finding their passion. Luckily for Jack Esterhuizen, his found him when he was a child. Jack's Dad had a friend who Jack loved to be around, and for good reason. He would regularly send free beta tapes Jack's way, which is when (and how) Jack's passion for the visual medium started brewing.
Jack's career began once he walked out of AFDA's doors with a BA Honor's degree in hand. Throughout his third and fourth years of study, Jack worked as a teacher's assistant for AFDA's television production apartment. His hard work never went unnoticed. In his second, third, and fourth years of studies, Jack received three awards for best television production.
Today, that beta-loving boy has evolved into a successful television editor. Jack received two nominations for Isibaya (2017 and 2018) along with one international nomination for Love Games 2014 at AMVCA in Nigeria. Jack landed his first award at the 2014 SAFTA awards, for Best Achievement in Editing for the TV Drama, Room 9.
Jack won again in 2015, another SAFTA awarded for End Game.
However, Jack's biggest and proudest achievement thus far was his role as First Assembly Editor on Tremors 5 and Tremors 6 (Directed by Michael Paul).
