Apple TV+‘s comedy The Completely Made–Up Adventures of Dick Turpin will not return.
The show has ceased production on series two, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed on Thursday. British tabloid The Sun first reported the news, adding that titular star Noel Fielding — well known among U.S. audiences as a co-host of The Great British Baking Show — pulled out three-quarters of the way through the shoot.
Filming started on a second series in the autumn, the tabloid said, but 51-year-old Fielding did not return after the Holidays. The cast and crew have now been stood down. Though THR has been unable to confirm the report, Fielding’s team has been contacted for comment.
Written by Fielding, Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain, the series followed the contemptuous life of the 18th-century highwayman, known in York, England, as a thief, poacher and killer but whose exploits have been widely romanticized in modern culture.

Apple TV+’s comedy series “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin” has stopped production because the main actor, Noel Fielding, left the show before completing a quarter of its second season. Big Talk Studios had to stop production early because the series could not continue without its lead star.
The shutdown happened after the 2024 holiday season because Fielding did not return to the set in early 2025. Apple TV+, Big Talk Studios, and Fielding’s team at Pbj Management have not explained why he left.
The comedy series featured Fielding as Dick Turpin, a surprising 18th-century highway robber who used his charm more than his taking abilities. The show’s first season had popular British comedians like Ellie White, Dolly Wells, Mark Heap, Marc Wootton, Duayne Boachie, and Michael Fielding.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin is no more.
Season 2 of the Apple TV+ comedy has been shut down after Noel Fielding pulled out around three-quarters of the way through the shoot.
The Sun newspaper first reported on Dick Turpin’s demise. Deadline understands that Season 2 cannot be salvaged and that producer Big Talk Studios has disbanded the cast and crew.
The Sun reported that Fielding “failed to come to work” at the start of 2025 after the series paused for the Christmas holiday.
Apple, Big Talk, and Fielding’s rep at Pbj Management have been contacted for comment.
In the irreverent retelling of the 18th-century highwayman’s life, Turpin is the most famous but least likely of robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship, and great hair. Together with his gang of lovable rogues, Turpin rides the highs and lows of his new endeavors, including a brush with celebrity.

Those who enjoyed the historical fantasy, humor, and alternative history elements of My Lady Jane, may enjoy these other series. Renegade Nell was an historical fantasy series about a young woman framed for murder who goes on an epic adventure. Belgravia: The Next Chapter included a major actor from My Lady Jane to fill the gap left by the show.
My Lady Jane was an excellent historical fantasy series that has left plenty of viewers craving more shows that showcased a similar style, addressed the same themes, or combined humor and history in such a compelling way. With an extraordinary lead performance from Emily Bader as Lady Jane Grey, this period series reimagined the story of the Nine Days Queen as a magical tale featuring a world where some can take the form of animals. Adapted from a novel by Jodi Meadows, this Amazon Prime series brought to mind several other acclaimed TV shows.

Noel Fielding’s comedy series The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin has been renewed for a second series at Apple TV+, here are the details.
Noel Fielding, along with comedy partner Julian Barratt, blasted onto the UK comedy scene with double act The Mighty Boosh, which found success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1998. After that, it went to TV, with three series of what might be the most surreal, esoteric comedy ever broadcast on British television. All episodes were directed by Paul King, who went on to achieve national treasure status alongside Simon Farnaby for co-writing and directing the Paddington films and the recently released Wonka.
Fielding has had a steady career in British sitcoms ever since, appearing in the likes of Snuff Box, The It Crowd and headlining his own series Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy, last year he created and lead the cast of Apple...

Red Dwarf XI enjoyed its Bafta launch last night. Here's the cast discussing their favourite episodes from almost thirty years...
A very fun, lively Q&A followed the Bafta screening of Red Dwarf's first two series XI episodes this week, which demonstrated the bubbling chemistry between the central cast members who were full of gags, inside jokes and collectively remembered anecdotes from almost three decades of working together.
Asked that perennial Q&A question, to name their favourite episode across every series, here's what the cast said:
Chris Barrie: It’s easier to pick out shows from my own point of view that maybe weren’t so… Stasis Leak, to this day I still can’t work out what went on there! [Laughs] ‘Just come out of the table Chris and say your lines!’
Craig Charles: To be fair, I can’t even remember being in that one!
