Rosa Navarrete is an LA based writer, producer and director. She won first place for writing "In Tune" for the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge (2022). Rosa was part of the inaugural collective for BIPOC Sci-Fi Screenwriting Lab at Justice for My Sister & BIPOC Critic's Lab led by Jose Solís through The Kennedy Center (2020). She co-directed "Matriarchy" with Patricia Zamorano. "Matriarchy" was showcased at The Schwules Museum in Berlin, Germany as part of their 12 Moons Exhibit (2018). She was a writer/director collaborator on "The Train" (2021) a series of episodes turned short film led by showrunner Yelyna De Leon that was showcased at LA Skins Film Festival (2021). In 2022, she edited an Afro-Futuristic dance film titled "A'we Deh Ya" directed by Paloma McGregor that won the Best Screendance Film at the Denton Black Film Festival. In 2023, "Sippin'", a short film written by Gilbert Salazar and directed by Navarrete won the Spirit of the Festival Award at the LIFE Film Festival. This year, her latest directorial project "Confessions to the Moon" written by Lauren Ballesteros is entering the festival market. When not making films, Rosa enjoys spending time with family and giving back to her community. She serves on the Refugee Children Center board and uplifts Empowering Leadership In Latina Athletes.
