William Flynn is a Composer, Musician, Sound Designer, and Mixer based in Brooklyn, NY.
Over the years as a musician he has performed, recorded, and collaborated with among others, St. Vincent, David Byrne, Andrew Bird, members of MGMT, Ariel Rechtshaid, Daniel Hart, The Parkington Sisters, The Prigs, Christian Frederickson, Simon Doom, Platinum Vision, The Fleece, Tawanda, Aufgang, and many more
As a composer he has worked with directors such as Michael Apted, Tom Kuntz, Dante Ariola, Alan Del Rio Ortiz, and Ben Poster. Commercial Campaigns for brands such as Nike and Adidas and as a staff member at Vice Media he has composed over one thousand original compositions ranging from theme songs for Vice News Tonight on both HBO and Vice TV, VWN Series Themes such as Counter Space, Reset, Future Earth, Global Black Live Matters,.... Themes for Vice Special Report's such as Return of The Taliban on Showtime, Criminal Food, Toxic Farmland, and full length scores for specials on HBO including Trump 100 Days.
As a sound designer he has worked with Gus Koven, Daft Punk/Daft Arts on a variety of projects, Commercial campaigns for Nike, Adidas, Wrigley's, Maserati, Dodge, EA, Gatorade, Reebok, GE, etc... Immersive sound installations such as Tom Kuntz's "Bugs" at the Sydney Opera House, and independent films including Molly Lowe's Redwood which was featured at both Pioneer Works and NYC's MoMa.
From 2016-2023 he had been a full time a Staff Mixer at Vice. Working on projects and series which have amassed 22 Emmys and 2 Peabodys including Vice News Tonight on both HBO and Vice TV /(1008 episodes), Action Bronson's Fuck That'/s Delicious, Chef's Night Out, The Cooking Show, Small Town Heroes, and numerous branded campaigns for clients such as Mail Chimp, Nike, Reebok, Geico, and Callaway,, Vice World News series including Counter Space, The Short List, and Inside Story, and award winning special reports including Charlottesville Race and Terror and Return of the Taliban
