Exclusive: Christopher Meyer (Mad About You) and Zayne Emory (The Rookie) are set as series regulars opposite Reina Hardesty in the CW drama pilot drama Maverick, from writer Merigan Mulhern, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire and CBS TV Studios.
The premise of Maverick is likely to draw real-life parallels: In a present day America that finds itself under authoritarian rule, the President’s daughter, Kit (Hardesty) –- raised to believe her father is moral and benevolent -– has her worldview rocked on her first day at Georgetown. Challenged by her fellow students, and under the watchful eye of Secret Service agents, she’ll have to decide if her loyalties lie with her family or with a growing resistance as she navigates her freshman year.
Meyer will play Chase. A handsome and effortlessly cool freshman at the school, Chase connects quickly with Kit as they are in all of the same classes.

If any of you knew that there was a Maximum Ride movie floating around out there and didn’t tell me, I’ll have you know I’m mad about it. Not like I’ve been following this series for years. And I’m especially mad, given how hilariously awful the first trailer for said movie looks.
I’m still having a hard time believing a Maximum Ride film, directed by someone named Jay Martin, actually exists, given that this property has been in development hell for over a decade, with people like Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke trying to make it happen along the way. There were once plans to do it as a web series, but that idea obviously changed course somewhere in the midst of development (perhaps as Paramount watched shows like Community and Sin City Saints send Yahoo Screen down the tubes).

"So what do we do?" "We fight!" Paramount has released a trailer for the young adult sci-fi adaptation titled Maximum Ride, directed by Jay Martin, about six orphan kids who are genetically cross-bred with avian DNA. This gives them the ability to fly, and they band together to figure out the "diabolical, scientific secrets of how they came to exist". Yep, it's as bad as it sounds. Starring Allie Marie Evans, Patrick Johnson, Lyliana Wray, Luke Gregory Crosby, Gavin Lewis, Tetona Jackson, Zayne Emory, Peter O'Brien & Carrie Wampler. As expected, this looks very cheesy and designed specifically for the "young adult" audience, so tread carefully. The effects don't even look good and the villain seems pretty awful, too. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) Jay Martin's Maximum Ride, direct from YouTube: Based on the phenomenal, bestselling book series by James Patterson, Maximum Ride is the extraordinary journey of six...

DC doesn't have the greatest track record with their cinematic endeavors, but when it comes to television, they've had some amazing hits. However, outside of animation, they didn't really branch out to many of their second tier heroes until Smallville hit the air. We were then introduced to not only the young Clark Kent, but eventually Green Arrow, Cyborg, Aquaman, Impulse and many other heroes before its ten year run ended. A year and a half later, producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg brought us Arrow, starring Steven Amell as Oliver Queen in a darker, grittier take on the hero (which has borrowed more than a little from the Batman comics), who has returned home to find that his city has been run down by corrupt politicians and a seedy criminal element. Taking on the guise of Arrow, he sets out on his own to take his city back, only...
