New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers regrets declaring in August 2021 that he had been “immunized” against Covid-19.
Rodgers was still with the Green Bay Packers in 2021 when he told reporters he was “immunized” against Covid-19. He then received backlash after being tested positive for the virus three months later, leaving him sidelined for ten days.
Rodgers did not appeal the league’s decison that his homeopathic treatment regimen should qualify him as vaccinated. At the time, the football quarterback said he was allergic to polyethylene glycol, an ingredient in the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, and was worried about possible adverse reactions to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Australian rapper and new crypto entrepreneur Iggy Azalea has launched her own podcast, Mother Knows Best.
The rapper’s audio partnership with podcast publisher The Volume will see Azalea reach into the worlds of pop culture and business by discussing the work and lives of chart-topping musicians and trailblazing CEOs.
“I’m excited to start filming Mother Knows Best and stirring the pot in the way only I can. For a long time now I feel conversations in pop culture have become stagnant and overly cautious. I can’t wait to start a fire and blaze a trail with The Volume,” Azalea said in a statement.
In June 2024, Azalea expanded in the crypto market by introducing her own meme coin, Mother Iggy or $Mother. The popular rapper has used her 7.7 million followers on X, formerly, Twitter, and her other social media channels to promote the $Mother token as a viral online meme.

Fox Sports 1 Nick Wright condemned the New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers for not going to the mandatory Jets meeting so that he allegedly could do psychedelic drugs.
Last week, the Jets’ head coach, Robert Saleh, addressed the media during a pre-practice media conference about Rodgers’ absence from the minicamp.
“Aaron and I spoke before OTAs started,” Saleh mentioned. “He’s been very good in communication. He’s been here the entire time. It’s unexcused, but he had an event that was very important to him, which he communicated.”
Many fans speculated that the Jets quarterback was somewhere using ayahuasca, the psychoactive substance that he openly used and spoke about in the past.
Wright called out Rodgers’ absence on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“If the reports are true, then, ‘Hey, give me in 10 words or less what happened with Aaron Rodgers last week?’ The answer is, skip work to do drugs,...

The reactions to news that No. 1 WNBA draft choice and NCAA all-time scoring leader Caitlin Clark is likely not on Team USA’s squad for the Paris Olympics is mostly drawing outrage from fans and pundits.
The popular Indiana Fever rookie is apparently not going to be on the team, according to several reports. She has an outside shot if someone gets hurt between now and the start of the games.
A few lone contrarians pointed out by the time of the games, Clark will have played back to back college and pro seasons, and could stand a rest. But most lamented that the WNBA’s star attraction won’t be must-see TV at the games.
Some of the reactions:
Yet Caitlin Clark is not selected to the Team USA Women’s Basketball team heading to Paris for the Olympics?!?! All she does is grow the game, pack arenas, and set rookie records.

Caitlin Clark is not likely to be a member of the 12-player Team USA women’s basketball squad for the Summer Olympics, The Athletic reports, citing several sources.
The popular Indiana Fever rookie, the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer, is being bypassed in favor of veterans.
Reports indicate the roster will feature players A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper.
The U.S. women should be a favorite in Paris.
Clark still has an outside chance of being on the squad as an injury replacement. She missed Team USA’s tryouts in the spring because of her Iowa team’s deep run in the NCAA tournament.
It’s been a rough introducion to the WNBA for Clark, who has been “hammered” in her own words, including one non-basketball foul by a Chicago Fever player.

Edison Research announces the Top 50 Podcasts in the U.S. based on reach for Q4 2023 among weekly podcast listeners age 13+.
While there was some movement among ranks four through ten in the Top 10, the big story is New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. New Heights not only broke into the Top 10 in Q4 at #6, but the show skyrocketed straight into the Top 10 from #67 in just one quarter (Q3), having been out of the Top 100 podcasts in the prior quarter (Q2). Edison Podcast Metrics data validated the “Taylor Swift Effect” on New Heights in Q4 of 2023 as the show gained four and a half times the number of listeners, and saw a change in composition to 50% female listeners.

Update: There’s a reason that attacks on Taylor Swift continued throughout the day today: She’s a celebrity guaranteed to drive web traffic, particularly to right-wing media figures advancing ever more outlandish conspiracy theories. For much of today, social media focused on figures like Jack Posobiec and Benny Johnson, who benefit from the attention even if it’s to try to discredit them.
While a Swift endorsement of Joe Biden may very well hold enough sway to be of concern to Donald Trump’s campaign, the fixation on cooking up conspiracy theories about her has more to do with what draws attention in a hyper-competitive universe of voices on the right.
Erick Erickson, the conservative commentator, wrote on X/Twitter, “Let me explain what is actually going on with these hucksters, charlatans, and grifters on the right. They don’t believe it. They hope you might believe it. They...

The day Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL, he was caught on what looked like a relatively heated phone call. It’s hard to tell what the sports icon was saying in the clip, but he did seem generally disgruntled by the conversation.
A lip reader took a crack at it, concluding Brady advised that person, whoever they were, to stop calling him. However, he might have also warned them to avoid someone else because, as he possibly said, “She’s hard work.”

Brady, who officially retired from the NFL on Feb. 1 (“for good,” he said), had signed a broadcast deal with Fox Corp. a year ago. The rich, multi-year deal specified that he would join the network’s NFL broadcast booth whenever he decides to retire. Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch added at the time that Brady will “also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives.”
Brady told Cowherd that he would start at Fox in “fall of 2024,” thanking executives at the network for giving him time to find his footing after retiring from the NFL, adding that “decompression is important.” Brady added that he wants to “take some time to really learn, become great at what I want to do,...

Exclusive: CAA sports media agent Michael Klein is leaving the agency to form a management company with a specialty in audio and betting.
His client roster, includes ESPN’s Mina Kimes and Bomani Jones as well as Pft Commenter, the alter ego of Barstool Sports NFL writer Eric Sollenberger, will continue to be co-repped with CAA.
The new firm, Silver Tribe Media, will be based in LA.
Sports wagering has been dramatically expanding since the Supreme Court made a landmark ruling in 2018 legalizing it in New Jersey. A number of other states have followed in legalizing betting, and businesses like DraftKings and FanDuel have grown along with the opportunity. Media companies have also jumped aboard the betting trend. With increasing numbers of athletes looking to establish a media presence, Klein sees Silver Tribe as a home for those looking to take that step.

ESPN may be synonymous with sports, but plenty of stars have bailed for Fox Sports lately. Have a look at some the big names.
Chris Broussard

Carter first joined Fox Sports in 2016 and had hosted “First Things First,” alongside Nick Wright since 2017, but it was a short tenure. He left Fox Sports in late 2019, reportedly after he had an outburst with higher-ups over not being part of the network’s “Thursday Night Football” coverage.

The outspoken sports columnist and “First Take” analyst still ranks as ESPN’s highest-profile defection when he bailed in 2016. He co-hosts “Skip and Shannon” with Shannon Sharpe on Fox Sports 1.

“Uh, we are having an earthquake in Los Angeles,” said Cowherd mid-discussion, then after a pause, “I thought somebody was grabbing my desk. I’ve never been in an earthquake, certainly not on the air. We’ll take a break. We just had a little earth.”
