David Fatta
- Actor
- Producer
David Fatta entered show business late in life. In 2003, while working
in an administrative capacity at Syracuse University with comedian Tim
Mahar, Tim and Dave learned of a vacancy at WTVH-5, the CBS affiliate
in Syracuse, New York. Open auditions were being held to replace Ron
Curtis, Jr., as the host of "Freaky Flix & Food", the late-night horror
movie and interview show. Tim and Dave were selected from a sizable
field of better known performers, and co-hosted the show's final
season. Dave is remembered for his sidekick character, Dishwasher Dave.
After the show was over, Dave became popularly known as Diamond Dave, where he regularly appeared in local Syracuse nightclubs, hosting trivia shows or as a karaoke DJ. He also served on the board of directors of The B-Movie Festival (now known as Syracuse International Horror, Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival), annually assisting in the film selection and presentation.
Dave continues to assist in the production of independent films, appearing in supporting roles and as an extra. In 2009, he was heard weekly as the host of an Internet radio interview show, "The Diamond Dave Show", on Redhouse Art Radio.
