Every now and again I’ll scour the shelves of my local supermarket looking for an interesting straight to DVD release that might catch my eye. Usually I don;t have much luck, however this past week there was not one but two Dtv flicks that caught my eye, including this, 13 Eerie.
The film follows six ambitious forensic undergrads who travel to a remote island – the location of an abandoned prison (13 Eerie Strait Penitentiary) previously used as a biological test site – vying for a position in the FBI. The zombie convicts that now inhabit the island begin to hunt the students down and what started as a fight for an esteemed FBI career is now a fight for their very lives…
So what attracted me to 13 Eerie?...

What can be better than an alien movie with Christian Slater? Okay, so there are several things. But Stranded pits the erstwhile TV star against replicating aliens in space. The film stars Slater and Brendan Fehr. Christian Piers Betley wrote the film, and Roger Christian directs. Yes, if you had a Christian in your name, you had a high probability of working on this picture.
First we have the trailer to share with you, followed by a sampling of stills from the film, as well as its synopsis and various release dates on different platforms.

Whereas the name Christian Slater once meant a sign of a great movie (I’m thinking of the likes of Heathers, Mobsters, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and his magnum opus, Pump Up the Volume), today it tends to mean low-budget, badly scripted straight to DVD fodder. The last Slater film I watched, Sofia, was a bit of a mess. The film could have been an action-packed espionage thriller, but instead the film saw both actor and director seemingly out of their depth – with Slater literally trying to “act” like a tough guy without backing it up with any actual physicality. So I approached Stranded with a bit of trepidation, even moreso given that director Roger Christian was responsible for the atrocity that was Battlefield Earth…

Director: Roger Christian. Writer: Christian Piers Betley. Cast: Christian Slater, Brendan Fehr, Amy Matysio and Michael Therriault. This reviewer is going to have to remind himself to avoid direct-to-dvd releases starring actor Christian Slater (Playback). The last several releases that have hosted this actor have not been great, or even watchable. Slater's latest, Stranded, is another lackluster effort. And this time, events take place, B-movie style, in space. Stranded borrows several sci-fi elements from other films and the delivery of this space set semi-thriller is lackluster. The film follows four crew members on the Moon Base Ark or Vargas. A meteor strike knocks out their communications (of course) and there is a general loss of power, heat and oxygen supplies. To top it off, the meteors contain an alien spore, which is soon contaminating everyone and everything, including character Ava's (Amy Matysio) womb. A creature is hatched and air ducts are used for devious.

A small group of forensic undergrads, annoying all, are taken to a remote island for an FBI field training exercise. The island was previously home to a prison for life-term criminals, but has subsequently been closed for several years. The prison, which had the unfortunate moniker of 13 Eerie Straight Penitentiary, remains standing along with several small cabins, all closed off by a surrounding fence. The students are paired off and given a specific area where a crime scene (complete with a fresh corpse) has been orchestrated by their FBI instructors. Video equipment in each area captures the action so the uptight Professor Tompkins (Michael Shanks) can view and critique the proceedings. Unbeknown to the students and Tompkins, the former prison was used for illegal biological testing during which the life-term...

Director: Lowell Dean. Writer: Christian Piers Betley. Cast: Katharine Isabelle, Brendan Fehr, Brendan Fletcher and Nick Moran. 13 Eerie is a zombie thriller. This title was filmed in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in an abandoned animal park. The setting is appropriately isolated. The acting is equally well done. Yet, 13 Eerie follows a few horror formulas, which offer only a few shocks. 13 Eerie still manages to be an entertaining time, despite some drawbacks. The story involves several forensic students. They are tasked by their teacher and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to examine several corpses on a body farm. They gather evidence and document their findings. But then, the bodies start moving. The students must now find a way off the island, before the corpses dine on them. The undead are especially ferocious in this piece And the characters are believable. Katharine Isabelle (American Mary) delivers a compelling performance as Megan. Megan is a fighter and.
