The fourth season of the satirical superhero series The Boys just wrapped up on Prime Video last week. Soon showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke will be gearing up for production of the fifth and final season of the show (the scripts are currently being written) – but first, it’s time to party at San Diego Comic-Con. A The Boys panel, described as a post-season finale celebration, was held at Comic-Con today, with Kripke joined on stage by several members of the cast. Most of the hour was dedicated to talk about The Boys season 4, with a blooper video (embedded above) unveiled along the way – but in the final moments, it was revealed that not only will Jensen Ackles be reprising the role of Soldier Boy as a series regular in season 5, but he and Aya Cash, who plays Stormfront on the show, are set to star in a prequel series called Vought Rising!

The Boys continues to be a hit for Amazon.

Season 4 of the Prime Video series, which ended on July 18, exceeded 55M viewers through its first 39 days post-premiere. That’s with just a few days of viewership for the finale.

It marks the third consecutive season of audience growth for The Boys, up 20% from Season 3 in the same time frame. It’s not Prime Video’s fourth most-viewed TV season of all time and the second most-viewed returning season of a series after Reacher Season 2.

Amazon says that 60% of the show’s Season 4 audience came from outside the U.S. with strong performances in UK, Brazil, India, Germany, Canada, France, Mexico, Spain, and Italy.

According to Amazon, the latest season, which premiered with three episodes on June 13, is already up 21% in total viewers compared to Season 3 in the first four days since launch. Season 3 also debuted with three episodes at launch.

Season 4 is now among the Top 5 most-viewed TV seasons on Prime Video through its first 4 days, according to the streamer.

The company didn’t release hard data, but did also say that Season 4 tallied the second most viewers of any returning season on Prime Video through its first four days, behind only Reacher Season 2. Amazon reports that The Boys has now grown in global viewership every season.

Season 4 has done particularly well abroad, with 60% of its audience based outside the U.S. Amazon says the show had strong performance in Brazil, the UK and India.

Eric Kripke, the showrunner of Prime Video’s super(anti)hero series, said on social media Tuesday that the show’s fifth season — which the streamer ordered in May — will be its last.

Today, during Prime Video’s inaugural Upfronts presentation, it was announced that the Emmy-winning hit drama series The Boys has been renewed for a fifth season. The Boys will premiere its diabolical fourth season on June 13, 2024, with three episodes, followed by a new episode each week, ending with the epic season finale on Thursday, July 18.

The eight-episode season will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

When it comes to reviewing a Part 4, I often like to start out with a quick and hopefully helpful little "franchise history lesson," just to bring everyone up to speed -- but is that really necessary at this point? What was once a strange but amusing little matinee movie from a well-known TV producer has (somehow, slowly) turned into a cable TV sequel franchise that exists for nothing more than to fill a random Saturday night slot with a lot of silliness and a bunch of crocodile madness. SyFy Network must have decided that no tagline is required with a title like the Boogeyman. This latest offering does not really stand out from a line of films that includes a version from Stephen King and Stephen Kay. If one isn’t enough, apparently Kay’s version was interesting enough to spawn two more films. Just how one amorphous creature managed to spawn into a huge line of unrelated films is as perplexing as this latest incarnation. Katie Waissel has reportedly double crossed X Factor bosses and allowed a record which features her vocals to be released in America.

Simon Cowell bought Katie out of her record deal with La based Chamberlain Records earlier this year and the 24 year old was ordered to cut all ties with the company. However a track on which her vocals are featured was released by the company last week on an album by singer-songwriter David Reed. The song titled Moving Mountains can be heard below.

A source told The Sun: “Katie is supposed to have severed all ties with Chamberlain – but it’s nonsense. She’s still in contact with them and they’re still releasing music by her.

“She might have hoped this would slip under the radar, but it’s a bit foolish.”

The move is set to further anger viewers who were already enraged when Katie survived her...

Katie Waissel has lent her vocals to a track that was released in the Us last week, it has been revealed. The X Factor contestant sings on the new album by South Carolina musician David Reed, although show rules state that contestants cannot hold a current recording contract, reports The Sun. Waissel avoided disqualification from the ITV singing competition in September after it emerged that she was already signed to Chamberlain Records. Simon Cowell's lawyers reportedly fought to get the 24-year-old out of her deal so she could participate on the show. However, Waissel - under the name Lola Fontaine - can now be heard dueting with Reed on the track 'Moving Mountains' from his new album The Private Life Of David Reed, which was apparently released by the same record company without the knowledge of X Factor producers. Now that "Supernatural" Season Six seems to be finding its groove, fans of the show have been wondering what, if anything, special we can expect from the episode airing on October 29th in light of its proximity to Halloween. Lake Placid 3 DVD ArtSyFy produced the latest in the Lake Placid franchise for a release this past August 21st (Lake Placid 3). Now, Sony Pictures will be releasing this creature feature on DVD October 26th. The film involves unbelievably large crocodiles and their appetite for human flesh. Bolstering its "Saturday movies" slate for 2010, SyFy announced a slew of original movies that are now in the works. Keeping the killer crocodile sub-genre alive, the network is shepherding Lake Placid 3 . Another sequel spun off from Steve Miner's 1999 film written by David E. Kelly. The last entry, Lake Placid 2 , arrived in 2008. In the threequel, Colin Ferguson (of Eureka , so SyFy is keeping the casting in the family) stars as a game warden who relocates to his aunt's cabin on Lake Placid with his wife and their young son move into their aunt's cabin on Lake Placid.
