Beyond Casual Media debuted the first official trailer for an indie horror thriller film titled The Observance, described as a psychological horror about a cult. This premiered at a few indie film festivals earlier this year and it still doesn't have a release date set yet, but they're hyping it up anyway with a fancy website and this trailer for now. The Book Club Murders quite literally begins with a house on fire. Like many Lifetime films, the film will eventually circle back around to the cold open, but for a long stretch the image of a burning home hangs over the proceedings.
Months have passed when the film proper begins: Natalie Johnston (Brittany Underworld) and her teen daughter Gwen (Eva Igo) are trying to get their lives back in order after the loss of their home and the death of the family’s patriarch. Gwen is also grieving the loss of her former best friend, Lauren McCain (Julia Zook), who is missing and presumed dead in a separate incident.
Naturally over the course of the film, the details of these events will be revealed to be in conversation with one another. Unlike some of the brand’s other mysteries, The Book Club Murders does a reasonable job of baiting the...

Lifetime’s latest thriller drops viewers into the action right from the jump. Under desaturated grey/blue skies, introverted lawyer Mel (Lindsey Desbach) rides a ferry to Feng Key island. She’s headed to the titular party island not for a vacation, though; she’s there to identify the body of her drowned younger sister, Georgia (Andrea Prevatt).
It’s immediately clear that something unusual is afoot when Mel visits the police station and unhelpful Detective Alex Hurley dismisses her suspicions. Georgia’s body was found on the beach with her wallet, but her phone and passport are missing. Later, as Mel begins to investigate, frightened local Kaya (Mia Rose) insists that Georgia was wearing a bathing suit when she was pulled from the water, so where was she keeping her wallet?
Clearly something is amiss and seemingly everyone knows it, including Wayward hostel owner Keaton (Adam Harper) and his...

"I always come back!" Who is this guy, The Terminator? Gravitas Ventures has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror thriller film titled Mister Sleep, from British filmmaker Rob Hollocks. This is arriving to watch in early April on VOD if anyone wants to stay up late and find out what Mister Sleep is up to... Or maybe just go to sleep instead. This serial killer thriller is about a deranged murderer known as Mr. Sleep who takes retribution on a group of insomnia patients that he believes stole his memories. Starring Claire Marie Lubeck, Alec James, Kate Dailey, Austin Rhodes, Bronsonn Taylor, Anna Borchet, and Ashley Terpstra. Even though they made this big bad villain look unique, the rest of the film does not look unique at all. It seems super cheap & cheesy, but maybe it'll use that kitsch to its advantage. Or maybe not. // Continue Reading ›...

They’re on the Lifetime Network!” Shudder’s horror host Joe Bob Briggs once said, and he’s not entirely wrong about that.
