Below Deck Med has a familiar face stepping on the Mustique yacht for the second charter.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Olympic Gold medalist Gigi Fernandez and friends are the new guests ready to have some fun.
While this is Gigi’s first time on Below Deck Med, she did appear on Below Deck Season 10 while Captain Sandy Yawn temporarily replaced Captain Lee Rosbach.
It turns out that Captain Sandy and Gigi became good friends after the tennis pro’s stint on Below Deck.
They are such close pals that Gigi’s doing another charter with Captain Sandy.
That means it’s time for a little refresher on Gigi.

Annette Bening on Following Up ‘Nyad’ with ‘Apples Never Fall’: “I Wanted a Land Kind of Acting Job”
Just days after attending the 2024 Oscars as a best actress nominee for her performance in Nyad, Annette Bening is already on to her next project: starring in the Peacock limited series Apples Never Fall.
Based on the bestselling novel from Liane Moriarty — who also wrote Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers — the show follows former tennis coaches Joy (Bening) and Stan (Sam Neill) as they retire from their successful tennis academy and look forward to spending time with their four adult children (Jake Lacy, Alison Brie, Conor Merrigan-Turner and Essie Randles); everything changes, though, when Joy suddenly goes missing.
Bening, who also served as an executive producer, had never done a limited series before but was drawn to shooting to Australia and working on an ensemble type of project. And filming a year after Nyad, “I wanted to do something different and not in the water and not with swimming.

In doing so, the 30th seed, Cirstea avenged an 0-2 record against the fourth seed and reached the fourth round in New York for the first time, reports ‘usopen’.
“I’m very, very happy with the win today. I’ve lost twice against her before, and she’s a very good player, No. 4 in the world, and I knew it (was) going to be a tough battle,” Cirstea said in her on-court interview. “But I’m just so happy to win this one. It’s a great moment for me.”
The 33-year-old had been 0-3 in third-round matches at the US Open and hadn’t beaten a Top 5 player since her Miami semifinal run in March. But armed with an...

Glasgow (Scotland), Nov 12 (Ians) Australia stormed into the championship match at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals for the 19th time in their history, with Storm Sanders notching singles and doubles wins over home team Britain in a semifinal tie that could not have been closer.
Sanders defeated Heather Watson 6-4, 7-6(3) in the opening singles match, but Britain’s Harriet Dart leveled affairs by upsetting Ajla Tomljanovic 7-6(3), 6-2.
It came down to the decisive doubles match, where Sanders returned and paired with Samantha Stosur to eke out a whisker-thin 7-6(1), 6-7(5), [10-6] victory over Brits Alicia Barnett and Olivia Nicholls.
Australia will now face either Switzerland or the Czech Republic in Sunday’s championship tie. The Swiss and the Czechs play the second semifinal tie, later on Saturday.
The Aussies, who were Billie Jean King Cup runners-up as recently as 2019, are seeking their first championship since 1974, when they won...

Victoria, 17, was responsible for the biggest upset of the U.S. Open on Aug. 27, when she beat out former 2011 champion Samantha Stosur, in her first Grand Slam win.
Victoria Duval is now a household name. The 17-year-old American, who was ranked 296, beat out Samantha Stosur, 29, at the Louis Armstrong Stadium on Aug. 27, at the U.S. Open and she couldn’t have been more humble about it!
Victoria, who is being called the “girl with the tiny voice” played her best match of tennis ever, and now she will advance. Victoria had received a wild car to play at the U.S. Open, after winning last year’s Usta 18-and-under girls championship.
“It was a big moment, big stage, not easy closing any match out, let alone a past U.S. Open champion,” she said of her big win. “I don’t even remember match point,” she added. “I guess I was really happy.

After two weeks of fierce tennis and tense rain delays, Novak Djokovic and Samantha Stosur emerged from the 2011 Us Open bearing hard-earned trophies. Whereas all eyes were on Serena Williams rather than Stosur in the women’s field, Djokovic, as the newly minted World No. 1, was under immense pressure to perform well. Here’s how things went down during a very dramatic tournament.
With crisp groundstrokes and flawless movement, the Djoker has always been a joy to watch, but eighteen months ago he was a distant World No. 3 renowned for retiring-mid match due to fatigue or cramping. Improved physical conditioning helped him rise up and contend with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, but it has been his attitude which has helped his steal the No. 1 ranking. His new-found confidence was on display during his semi-final tussle with Federer. Down a match point in the fifth set, Djokovic blasted back a service-return winner,...

Williams Fined For Verbal Outburst At U.S. Open
Tennis ace Serena Williams has been fined $2,000 (GBP1,250) for verbally lashing out against an umpire at the U.S. Open during her match on Sunday.
Williams shouted at the presiding referee after what she thought was a poor call, and, in the midst of passion, she blasted the official as a "hater", who was "unattractive inside".
The remarks were captured on camera and went viral, prompting bosses at the Tournament Grand Slam Committee to launch an investigation into the incident and review the star's behaviour.
And on Monday, Williams, who earned a grand total of $1.4 million (GBP875,000) during the tournament, was slapped on the wrist with a small fine.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Tennis Association says, "Williams' conduct... does not rise to the level of a major offence."
Williams went on to lose the match against her opponent Samantha Stosur in straight sets.
It's not the first time her temper has landed her in trouble in New York - Williams was fined $82,500 (GBP51,500) for a foul-mouthed tirade during her 2009 semi-final defeat by Kim Clijsters.

Serena Williams has been cited for verbally abusing the ref during her U.S. Open match Sunday. Now the Us Open referee is investigating Serena Williams for her outburst -- and, worst case scenario, she could be banned from future tournaments. Not even Gob got in this much trouble for an outburst of “Come on!”
During her U.S. Open match against Samantha Stosur on Sunday, Sept. 11, Serena Williams shouted just that against her opponent while the ball was still in play, prompting chair umpire Eva Asderaki to give Stosur the point for the distraction. Of course, as 2009 U.S. Open Serena Williams could attest, 2011 Serena Williams simply wasn’t going to go out without a fight (or, at least, without making a scene anyway). After asking Asderaki, “Are you the one that screwed me over here last time?”, Williams had no love,...

Due to heavy rainfall in New York city yesterday, all scheduled matches were cancelled so today the fourth concludes up and the quarter-finals begin. The year’s final Grand Slam, situated in the hectic Flushing Meadows grounds, has seen the “big four” male players – Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray – sail through the draw smoothly, while upsets and withdrawals have littered the women’s field.
Djokovic has been impressive playing in his first slam as the World No. 1. This season, the Djoker has proved extra pressure that comes from heightened expectations is no problem, winning his first 43 matches of 2011 and compiling an impressive record of 61 wins and just one loss. Djokovic whizzed through his four matches without losing a set, his only challenge coming from the unorthodox Ukrainian Alexander Doglopolov who stretched him in a 31 point first set tie-break before going down 7-6, 6-4, 6-2.
