Set in 1959 Hawkins, the play will focus on the arrival of Henry Creel to “a regular town with regular worries.” Teenage Jim Hopper, Bob Newby and Joyce Maldonado also star, as does a younger Dr. Martin Brenner (Patrick Vaill), who began the cruel experiments on Young Henry.

If you’re struggling to find a job right now, Patrick Schwarzenegger’s character in the upcoming movie “Echo Boomers” can relate.

In the heist thriller — which also stars Alex Pettyfer and Michael Shannon — Schwarzenegger plays a recent college graduate who can’t find work in a particularly unforgiving job market. He’s deep in student debt and out of options.

So he turns to his cousin (portrayed by Gilles Geary), who brings him into his get-rich-while-getting-back-at-the-rich scheme. Their group of disillusioned millennials, intent on breaking a system that favors the wealthy, use Chicago as their playground as they rob multi-million dollar homes, taking what they want and destroying what they don’t.

Though they carry out their frustrations in a way that could be described as a tad extreme, Schwarzenegger says the difficulty of finding jobs during a pandemic that’s left millions out of work is timelier than ever.

Chicago – “Echo Boomers,” the feature directorial debut of Seth Savoy, will have its Chicago run at the Music Box Theatre starting November 13th, 2020. The locally made film features Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michael Shannon, and Alex Pettyfer.

New college grad Lance (Schwarzenegger) accepts a job from his cousin Jack (Gilles Geary) assessing art for eventual sale, but what he comes to realize is that the art is stolen from the mansions of the wealthy in suburban Chicago. Soon Lance is in on the heists, along with a gang of three men and one woman led by Ellis (Alex Pettyfer). The money flows in from their buyer Mel (Michael Shannon), but the gang’s live-in-the-moment anarchy begins to unravel from greed and infighting. What began as a form of supplemental income and protest becomes something they all never expected.

This is the feature directorial debut of Seth Savoy, which has Oscar-nominee Michael Shannon toplining the cast alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger. Saban Films has acquired North American rights to Seth Savoy’s directorial debut “Echo Boomers” ahead of its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, the company announced on Thursday. The film stars Patrick Schwarzenegger, Alex Pettyfer, Oliver Cooper, Hayley Law, Gilles Geary, Lesley Ann Warren, and Michael Shannon.

The crime-drama was written by Savoy, Kevin Bernhardt and Jason Miller in his writing debut. Miller also produced alongside Speakeasy’s James Langer, Mike Ware, Matthew G. Zamias, Lucas Jarach, Kelly Mi Li, Jeff G. Waxman and Wetzel Entertainment Group’s Byron Wetzel and Sean Kaplan.

Netflix released the first trailer for its upcoming sci-fi series “The I-Land” on Thursday, revealing that I-Land is actually a high stakes simulation put on as some kind of survival test for its participants.

The seven-part limited series, starring Natalie Martinez and Kate Bosworth, envisions a “Hunger Games”-esque scenario where 10 people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there.

Netflix’s official description of the show says, “They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the I-Land’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves — or die as their worst ones.”

The recently released glimpse at the thriller, previously teased in a Fyre Festival-inspired video, gives us more of a sense of what happens after 10 people wake up on a dangerous island and have no idea who they are or how they arrived at the tropical paradise. “Faced with the I-Land’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves — or die as their worst ones,” the show’s official synopsis reads.

Netflix dropped the teaser for “I-Land,” its upcoming “mind-bending limited series event” starring Natalie Martinez and Kate Bosworth on Tuesday, showing us what the I-Land is all about. And guys, this sci-fi show appears to be what would happen if you combined Fyre Festival, the plot of “Lost” and a slasher movie.

The video, which you can view above, starts off as pretty much a shot-for-shot remake of the infamous promo for the fraudulent “luxury music festival” founded by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule, with bikini-clad women prancing around the I-Land as title cards flash across the screen that read, “An immersive experience so exclusive, captivating and breathtaking… once you arrive, you’ll never leave.” And then all hell breaks loose.

The streaming giant has announced — via a Fyre Festival-spoofing video, above — a Thursday, Sept. 12 release date for The I-Land, a seven-episode series in which 10 people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there. As the group sets off on a trek to try to get back home, they soon discover this world is not as it seems.

Exclusive: Patrick Schwarzenegger (Midnight Sun), Gilles Geary (The I-Land) and Hayley Law (Riverdale) are among cast to join Michael Shannon and Alex Pettyfer in feature crime-drama Echo Boomers, which is now under way in Utah.

Based on a true story, the film follows a group of disillusioned twentysomethings who break into and steal from the homes of the rich. Also among cast are Oliver Cooper, Jacob Alexander and Kate Linder.

Seth Savoy is making his directorial debut on the movie which he scripted with Kevin Bernhardt and Jason Miller. Producers are James Langer, Mike D. Ware, Matthew G. Zamias, Lucas Jarach, Byron Wetzel and Sean Kaplan. Nadine de Barros, Jeff Waxman, Frankie Ordoubadi, Eric Brenner and Sandra Siegal are executive producers.
