Gemma Hurley is the co-writer of the BIFA nominated horror film 'Host' (2020) directed by Rob Savage for Shudder. The lockdown breakout hit garnered a limited worldwide cinematic release and was awarded the 'best streaming movie' title at Fangoria's 2021 Chainsaw Awards and received 100% certified fresh status on Rotten Tomatoes.
Their second movie collaboration DASHCAM produced by Blumhouse premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and London Film Festival in 2021.
For television, Gemma has written an episode of the tech horror series 'Red Rose' for BBC / Netflix shooting summer 2021 and is writing on various tv projects for Amazon/eOne, Working Title TV and Eleven Films.
Previous to this, Gemma had a background writing collaborative comedy theatre and in 2018, her zombie horror feature script landed her in the top 10 female writers for The Academy run Nicholl Fellowship.
