Bob Kelly is an Irish actor & theatre-maker. In 2020 he was awarded the Screen Skills Actor as Creator Award 2020, and shared the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Ensemble.
On screen he has played the lead role of Sean Hueston in Abu Media's 1916 Seachtar Dearmadta, and lead role in a number of short films including his own short, Foxglove.
Trained in Paris' renowned Lecoq school, he has performed several times at THe Abbey, Ireland's national theatre; as well as at The Louvre, The Royal Ballet School, Paris' Theatre13, Cagliari's Theatro Massimo and New York's New Victory Theatre.
He has worked on the Irish stagings of two John Tiffaney productions; Once: The Musical at the Olympia, and Let The Right One In at The Abbey Theatre. He was also nominated for an Irish Times Theatre award for Best Supporting Actor in 2012 for his work on The Poor Mouth with Blue Raincoat - for whom he has played a number of lead roles, including Christie Mahon in Playboy of the Western World, Berenger in Rhinoceros, and Cuchulainn in On Baile's Strand.
He is multilingual and has performed lead roles in French and Italian theatre.
