Azeem Mustafa is a self-taught filmmaker. He has an array of abilities within the filmmaking field from sound operating to cinematographer, however his more recently focused area is directing and editing. For two years he ran a film club, mentoring young people who want to grasp the basics of making films. It was within these two years that Azeem accomplished one of his greatest achievements, making 52 videos in 52 weeks; this varied from a stop-motion romance between two staplers (which got written about onto the 'Staples' website) to psychological thriller, 'The Novelist'. Azeem describes this self given challenge to be 'My Film School.' His most recent achievement was being rewarded first place at Hackney Mash's audience choice award for his comedy noir, 'Dog Day'. At present he's running his own production company named 'Bebop Films' as well as working closely with his friend and colleague Eric Schacter in the recently set up East Indie Company.
