It’s not that Neil Young doesn’t want to tour the U.S.; The 2X Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee questions whether it will be possible for him to tour the U.S. again given his criticism of President Donald Trump.

“If I talk about Donald J. Trump, I may be one of those returning to America who is barred or put in jail to sleep on a cement floor with an aluminum blanket,” Young writes on his Neil Young Archives site, referencing situations like that actress Jasmine Mooney found herself in last month. “That is happening all the time now…If I come back from Europe and am barred, can’t play my USA tour, all of the folks who bought tickets will not be able to come to a concert by me.”

The “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World” singer is from Canada but has dual citizenship.

Acting hasn’t been the lone forte for Canadian-born actress Jasmine Mooney, who starred as Jackie in American Pie: The Book of Love. Having ventured into other industries over the years, ranging from bars, restaurants, flipping condos, and Airbnbs, the actress, whose last acting credit includes 2019’s 37-Teen, shifted to the health and wellness space in her 30s.

However, her business endeavors in America recently took a turn for the worse, as unlike her previous endeavors on US soil, her prospect of making it big in the health and wellness space turned her life upside down.

Actress Jasmine Mooney is probably best known for her appearance in American Pie Presents: The Book Of Love, but the Canadian actress has made small appearances in many other projects over the years, including iZombie and Loudermilk. However, while attempting to renew her work visa, the actress and entrepreneur was subjected to what she calls an “inhumane experiment” on the U.S.- Mexican border which saw her being detained by Ice officials.

The actress detailed being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers when crossing the border at San Diego. En route to visiting her lawyer to arrange the renewal of her permit, the actress instead found herself being held in a cell for over two days. She told Kgtv 10:

Canadian actress Jasmine Mooney has spoken out about her detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) officials while attempting to renew her work visa. Mooney, known for her roles in American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, Kid Cannabis, Loudermilk, and iZombie, was held for nearly two weeks in what she described as “inhumane” conditions after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border on March 3.

Mooney attempted to enter the U.S. at the San Diego border, where her lawyer is based, in order to process her visa renewal. Instead of being allowed entry or returned to Mexico, she was taken into custody and detained at the privately operated Otay Mesa Detention Center. Speaking to San Diego outlet Kgtv, Mooney described the conditions as harsh and dehumanizing.

Wanting to renew her work visa, she tried to cross at San Diego where her lawyer lived. Instead of being granted access, she was detained by Ice, in an experience she describes as a “deeply disturbing psychological experiment.”

“I was put in a cell, and I had to sleep on a mat with no blanket, no pillow, with an aluminum foil wrapped over my body like a dead body for two and a half days,” Mooney told local San Diego news outlet Kgtv 10. “I have never in my life seen anything so inhumane.”

Canadian actress and entrepreneur Jasmine Mooney is speaking out after being detained by Ice.

Jasmine, 35, had a role in 2009′s American Pie: The Book of Love. She is also the co-founder of the beverage brand Holy! Water, and moved from Vancouver to Los Angeles several months ago.

However, she learned that her business Tn visa was revoked in November 2024 when she was visiting Vancouver, possibly because Holy! Water is a product containing Hemp.

Jasmine then got another job offer in Los Angeles, and went to the San Ysidro border with new visa paperwork on March 3. There, a border official ordered her to be detained. She was then transferred to multiple facilities across California and Arizona.
