Albert Adrià(I)
Albert Adrià was born on October 20th, 1969 in the neighborhood of Santa Eulàlia. His parents instilled in him the interest for cuisine, but his brother Ferran introduced him to the passion for the profession. In 1985, Albert joined the elBulli staff and became interested in the pastry department. Twelve years later, Albert left elBulli and dedicated his time to writing his first book "The Desserts of El Bulli". In 2009 Albert published his second book, Natura, and directed the documentary "Un día en elBulli" (A day in elBulli), which was rewarded in several festivals. Throughout his culinary career he opened many bars and restaurants, which include Michelin star "41o Experience", Michelin star "Tickets", Michelin star "Pakta" and Michelin star "Hoja Santa". In 2015, Albert and Hotel Café Royal announced their first joint venture together: a pop up restaurant in London named "50 Days". "50 Days" opened in February until the end of April 2016 and they had to extend the pop up 10 more days due to the overwhelming demand. In less than two weeks, all the seats were sold with a waiting list over 3800 people. Currently, Albert is working on Enigma that is foreseen to open in 2016.
