An immigrant from that island off the west coast of Europe teeming with history and words for rain, Kathryn Sheard graduated from the University of Birmingham with an honors degree in Law.
After six years working for a major UK law firm she emigrated to Los Angeles, applying her attorney's work ethic, collaborative, and problem-solving skills to screenwriting.
She completed the certificate program for film and TV writing at UCLA (the only student to have been a UCLA/Dreamworks Diane Thomas Award finalist in two consecutive years) and has since gone on to become an experienced, versatile writer for both film and TV, with projects spanning: biopics; romantic comedy; urban fantasy; gothic horror; children's animation; female-centric dramedy; and book adaptations.
Her awards include a Silver Remi for historical screenplays at the Houston Worldfest and the Gaia Award for inspirational screenplays for children at the Moondance International Film Festival.
