Christopher Hills Eaton is an award-winning writer, director, and producer from Ojai, California.
As a writer-director, Eaton aims to illuminate the darkest corners of our lives, where character is truly revealed. His short films Split Oak, The Deed, and Dance Card's Full screened in limited runs on the film festival circuit. His animated short film, Driftwood, played in 17 film festivals, winning seven awards including "Best Film" at the 2023 UCLAx Film Fest, and "Best Gold Coast Film" at the 2023 Ojai Film Festival.
As crew, Eaton has played a variety of roles on feature films, television pilots, short films, commercials, and music videos. Eaton served as Assistant Director on the film festival darling [subtext] and the pilot Chasers, premiering at Sundance in 2024.
An eager student of life, Eaton helps produce projects in the documentary space. He Executive Produced the documentary Bizarre: A Circus Story which premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and was nominated for best documentary. Eaton Executive Produced Citizen of Moria, a documentary about refugees that screened at festivals and nonprofit organizations across the globe.
Simultaneously, to support himself, Chris has been a paralegal, a treatment-free beekeeper, door-to-door salesman, taught and performed at a circus school, worked as an organic strawberry picker in Australia, a ghostwriter, and an entrepreneur forming his own company, Mystery Tin, where he produces educational card games and his own network of podcasts.
Born in Santa Barbara, Chris attended The Thacher School in Ojai, California then St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where he graduated with a double major in Music and Fine Arts, and a minor in Economics. He later attended Empire College School of Law in Santa Rosa, California and studied filmmaking at UCLA Extension in Los Angeles.
