Deion Hayes (Stage and music Name- Deion Hayz)
"Deion Hayes is a half Navajo half Mexican local with roots in the four corners area of Shiprock New Mexico. As a musician he started in Highschool in 2006 making local music with his friends. That developed into forming the alternative indie Rock Band Tundra Tigers that held together for 9 years, with accomplishments such as, performing at Native Visions Event in Washington D.C at the embassy of Italy. Assistance- Raising Supplies for a local Lake fire on the Navajo Nation. Charity events for identity inc in supporting of our local lgbqt Community. As well as being featured for 5 consecutive years on the First Nations Experience cable access Channel (FNX) with the Hit song (So Cold is Eskimo) as-well as many other events.
Hayes is also a well established New Mexico Actor with 12 years experience under his belt starting in local theater performances, like playing the lead villain in the historical mellow drama Villainy in the Valley, a play about the local forming of Farmington and Aztec. After dedicating 4 years of intensive studying to UdaHagen, Checkoff Stanisvlavsky, as well as Improv Methods of Acting.
Hayes is also featured in Films such as Legends From the Sky a Holt Hamilton film, Spike Tvs Waco, and even the Netflix original film Rezball. Passionate about Local Short film work and the work hes been apart off has been a constant win at New Mexico Film festivals so their is a good chance you'll see more of his creativity in some of those.
The latest project he is apart of is being the English voice Actor for Ashkíí returns a Navajo Radio show in 3 parts. Hes very excited to see how his fellow Native people will enjoy this pull back to when Radio shows did this type of performance so Stay tuned for upcoming information on that. Inspiring and cultivating Community Creativity is something Hayes Feels very passionate about, as he continues to work towards his next project."
