Ruggero Romano is an Italian film director, producer and speaker based between Vancouver and Venezia. He currently produces and distributes social impact films through his organization "Movies Move Us".
Initially, while working in Vancouver as a dishwasher and salesman, Ruggero witnessed the social inequality that shaped the city and was inspired to make his feature documentary "V6A", which premiered at the VIFF Vancity Theatre in 2019. After his acclaimed debut, he went on to produce and direct documentaries to empower marginalised communities across Europe and North America.
His latest film project "Cielo Aperto" captures the resiliency of the young generations in the controversial city of Venezia, European symbol at the forefront of the most pressing issues of the decade. Cielo Aperto has been announced on September 9th 2022 at the 79th Mostra del Cinema di Venezia.
