David Lim is an Asian-American actor who grew up in San Ramon, California. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and initially worked as a loan officer. Seeking a new career direction, David signed with Ford Models and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in modeling and acting. After starring in numerous commercials for brands like Gillette, Bud Light, McDonald's, Dave & Buster's, and Apple, David Lim landed a role in the ABC thriller series Quantico as Sebastian Chen, a CIA recruit. This role jump started his acting career.
He currently stars as a series regular in the CBS drama "S.W.A.T." alongside Shemar Moore. David plays Victor Tan, a relatively new S.W.A.T. officer who made his name in the Hollywood Division before advancing to the heights of LAPD and Metro S.W.A.T. The series is a testament to the power of fandom, as it was twice canceled and brought back by CBS for an eighth season because of fan demand.
Aside from acting, David has developed a new jewelry line with his wife Marketa called Maya David.
