The Luther: The Fallen Sun trailer has been unleashed upon the world, revealing the return of Idris Elba's iconic detective John Luther. He originated the role on the BBC series Luther, which ran for five seasons from 2010 through 2019. The series followed Luther, the Detective Chief Inspector for the Serious and Serial Unit, as the crimes he is so skilled at stopping begin to eat away at his soul and fill him with a raging darkness.
Today, Netflix dropped the trailer for their Luther follow-up movie Luther: The Fallen Sun.
The trailer opens on returning character Dsu Martin Schenk (Dermot Crowley) being informed that Luther has escaped prison. However, the troubled detective has a very good reason for doing so in Luther: The Fallen Sun's story: Andy Serkis’ tech mogul serial killer David Robey is on the loose, wreaking havoc with his control over surveillance technology, and must be stopped.
