Gina Lohman(II)
- Actress
Gina Lohman is an American born actress. The daughter of an Army officer, Gina grew up all over the country and lived in Germany for six years. One of the most influential moments in her life was traveling to East Berlin and passing through Checkpoint Charlie.
Spending her formative years experiencing other cultures instilled a sense of curiosity and empathy that Gina carries with her and it has shaped her life, outlook on the world, and her craft.
Gina found theatre at an early age when she played the role of, Anybodys, in West Side Story. She spent her high school years performing in musicals and plays all over Detroit. Upon graduation, Gina studied theatre at Wayne State University and earned her BFA with an emphasis in acting.
After college, Gina worked as a professional actress in Detroit and as a narrator and product specialist for Nissan for five years. Working for the Auto Show provided her the means to travel and explore the country. She only has to visit three more states in order to complete the union.
Gina has performed in more than fifty plays, has studied all forms of ballroom dance, traveled the country backpacking and kayaking, and is a contributing writer for The Huffington Post.
She has been a member of many theatre companies and is a co-founder of LA based theatre company, Player King Productions. She has had the honor of producing Hamlet, Coronado, Blue/Orange and A Steady Rain. Being a producer has provided her a sense of ownership, challenge, and inspiration in her career.
Gina began studying with Steppenwolf West under the coaching of Jeff Perry and Alexandra Billings in 2009. On her first class, Ms. Billings said in reference to exploring Viewpoints, "it will not only change your acting...it will change your life". She was right.
Gina has been seen in various television programs, films, and national commercials and she looks forward to being involved in a number of exciting projects in the future.
