At first glance, it's hard to classify Robert DuBois as a success, even by the charitable standards of fictional supervillains, who by their very nature are fated to lose and fail. His codename, Bloodsport, is bland, and his uniform of a red bandana, black tank top, and camouflage pants does little to distinguish him from the countless other quasi-military combatants who were fashionable in superhero comics from the late '80s to the early '90s. In addition, his initial outing remained his sole appearance for eight years, until he returned to get killed off.

Alimi Ballard has been tapped for a heavily recurring role opposite Chibuikem Uche on YA mystery drama One Of Us Is Lying, Peacock’s series adaptation of Karen M. McManus’ novel.
Written by Erica Saleh and based on McManus’ novel, One Of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five high schoolers walk into detention and only four make it out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.
Ballard will play Kevin Clay. An ex-athlete, he’s Cooper’s (Uche) intense but loving father/coach, who just wants for his son to become a baseball star and have a (much) better life than he ever did.
Marianly Tejada, Cooper van Grootel, Annalisa Cochrane, Uche, Jessica McLeod, Barrett Carnahan and Melissa Collazo lead the ensemble cast.
Ballard was last seen as Marcel Dumas on USA Network’s Queen of the South and as Dr.

Did you see an actor in a Marvel movie, then suddenly got confused when you saw that same actor in a DC movie or vice versa? Check out our list of the actors that have been part of both universes
Zachary Levi
Levi played Fandral in “Thor: The Dark World” and then died in “Thor: Ragnarok.” Levi would rise from the dead from the supporting ranks and make it to leading man status when he headlined DC’s “Shazam!”
Sylvester Stallone
Stallone portrayed Stakar Ogord in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” and will next be seen voicing “King Shark” in DC’s upcoming “The Suicide Squad.”
Taika Waititi
On top of directing, Waititi played Korg in “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Avengers: Endgame” and will reprise the role in the upcoming “Thor: Love and Thunder.” On the DC side, Waititi played Thomas Kalmaku in “Green Lantern” and will play an unknown role in “The Suicide Squad.

When James Gunn told us several months ago that The Suicide Squad is “less sentimental” than Guardians of the Galaxy, he wasn’t kidding. You can see that for yourself by watching the latest trailer for The Suicide Squad.
While the latest round of sizzle reel footage is not as foul-mouthed or gruesome as the early red-band trailer we got—which featured King Shark, an anthropomorphic Great White, eating a man whole—the new trailer reveals we’ll be diving deeper into DC Extended Universe lore. Hence at the very top, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller coolly intones, “Robert DuBois. He’s in prison for putting Superman in the ICU with a kryptonite bullet.”
James Gunn has hinted about this before—including to us when he said “how cool is that?” about the kryptonite bullet. But as he added, “Also what a dick.”

A new trailer for DC and Warner Bros.’ “The Suicide Squad” has been unleashed. Directed by James Gunn, the film is a standalone sequel to David Ayer’s 2016 DC Extended Universe entry “Suicide Squad.” Check out the new footage below.
“The Suicide Squad,” like all of Warner Bros.’ 2021 titles, will debut day and date in whatever theaters are open later this summer and on HBO Max for 31 days. The release date is currently set for August 6, 2021. It’s a strategy that’s been paying off for Warner Bros. (mostly), thanks to films like “Godzilla vs. Kong,” which has topped $100 million in the U.S. even after playing on the Warner streaming platform.
Director James Gunn has long billed his version of “The Suicide Squad” as a gritty, 1970s war movie with comedic sensibilities. He also wrote the movie based on the comic book characters created by John Ostrander.

While Warner Bros. debuted an abundance of first look footage from James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” last summer during the DC FanDome event, today comes the long-awaited premiere of the first official “Suicide Squad” trailer. The film is a standalone sequel to David Ayer’s 2016 DC Extended Universe entry “Suicide Squad.” Watch the trailer below.

At DC Fandome’s panel for The Suicide Squad, Warner Brothers and the crew of the movie finally revealed all of the returning characters for the upcoming movie, and I still can’t believe we’re finally getting big screen Arm Fall Off Boy. Also Harley Quinn is back.
Returning from the first movie are several characters: Harley Quinn, played almost perfectly (twice!) by Margot Robbie; Boomerang gets to be a Captain in this movie, played by Jai Courtney; Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller; and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg. But it’s the new cast members who are big surprises.
Check out this stylish video revealing who everybody’s playing. It’s pretty great. Then we’ll help explain who is who.
John Cena joins the movie as Peacemaker. We’ll have more on him soon, but he’s a Captain America-type heavily involved in the super spy agencies of the DC universe.

After over a year of speculation, Idris Elba’s character in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad (don’t call it Suicide Squad 2!) was revealed. Initially believed to be a replacement for Will Smith’s Deadshot (he wasn’t), and with tons of speculation that his character was everyone from Bronze Tiger to the Adrian Chase version of Vigilante, it was finally revealed at DC Fandome that Elba is playing Bloodsport.
The character of Bloodsport is, in proper Suicide Squad fashion, a very minor one in DC Comics history. He first appeared in Superman #4 in 1987, where he was created by John Byrne. This version of Bloodsport was Robert DuBois, a draft dodger who escaped serving in the Vietnam War, allowing his brother Michael to go and fight in his place. The guilt, after Michael was left severely injured in combat, was too much for Robert, and he lost his mind.

DC fans have been trying to work out who Idris Elba is playing in The Suicide Squad ever since he was cast. Initially, he was set to play Deadshot, replacing Will Smith, but then it was decided to give him a fresh character instead. There have been various theories or reports since then claiming who he could be portraying – Bronze Tiger and Vigilante are two of the more common choices – but apparently, his actual role is one that nobody’s guessed.
That’s the bold claim made by writer/director James Gunn on Twitter this week, which sent fans back to the drawing board. Well, Gunn’s words may now have been proven true, as Elba’s character has possibly been revealed thanks to info derived from an early test screening of the Task Force X sequel. And no, it’s not Vigilante. Though that’s reportedly what the character...
