Phillip Howard Wolf was born in 1974, in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Carrollton, Texas, and received a Panasonic VHS camcorder when he was ten, sparking his love for filmmaking. Without any editing software, he learned to edit his short films in-camera.
At age twelve, after reading his first Stephen King novel, "It," Wolf wanted to be a writer. Between the ages of twelve and sixteen, he wrote over twenty short stories that he submitted to various publications, such as Weird Tales and Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy Magazine.
Wolf married Patience Janelle Sismilich in 1997 and welcomed their first child, Jeremiah Gregory Wolf, in 1999. However, tragically, at fourteen months old, Jeremiah passed away due to a congenital heart defect known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome. To cope with his loss, Wolf turned to writing and completed his memoir "God Gave Us a Promise" in 2002.
Wolf wrote his first screenplay, "When the Clock Strikes," in 2003 and turned it into a short film. He and Patience then welcomed a healthy baby girl named Destiny Faye Wolf.
Attending The Art Institute of Dallas in 2005, Wolf studied video production and graduated with honors in 2008. He left his job in the retail industry to focus on real estate photography for apartment homes and creating small business videos.
Wolf welcomed his second healthy baby girl in 2009, Angelina Nicole Wolf.
In 2011, Wolf established his independent film company, Wolf Entertainment Productions (WEP). In 2012, he launched Silent Cries under the umbrella of WEP. He created a documentary titled "Silent Cries" about congenital heart defects, which he entered into film festivals and won first place in the health category at the Awareness Film Festival in Los Angeles.
