Matjaz Juren - Zaza was born in Maribor, Slovenia. Shortly after
his birth the family moved to Ljubljana, the nation's capital. He
started acting at the age of 12, when he was given a small part in
Ljubljana City Theatre' s production of Romulus the Great, a play by
Friderich Durrenmatt. Later on he continued to be involved with
theatre, most notably playing the role of Cleant in Ljubljana's Dance
theatre (PTL) version of Moliere's Tartuffe, in 2007. After his
temporary departure from theatre, he starred in a number of independent
short films, finally gaining recognition with the independent short
film, Bititsch (2009) in which he played the role of an ex-military
Nazi sociopath who, above else, craves pizza. Matjaz Juren - Zaza is
studying Lee Strasberg's Method acting in Ljubljana's actors studio and
participating in national improvisational theatre Th Impro League with
his ensemble, the Jedi Govno.
