Theo Sakellarides
- Actor
- Additional Crew
Theo Sakellarides is an American actor who plays mostly innocent, kind,
funny and eccentrically funny characters. Born and raised in
Bloomingdale, Illinois Theo's childhood was centered around the
performing arts. Theo first began performing piano recitals at the age
of five and was encouraged to become a musician by his father who
worked as a professional pianist and composer. He joined a childrens
choir group in Chicago and toured all over Illinois and even at Disney
World in Orlando. While most children spent their weekends watching
television and doing homework, Theo constantly rehearsed singing and
dancing routines for his group's performances. He did this until he
attended high school where he acted in twelve plays and spent three
years in the school's drama classes. It was in high school that he
realized that acting was his true passion. During his high school
summers Theo traveled Europe. At the age of 16, Theo became the sole
heir to the opera writings of his grandfather Theofrastos Sakellaridis.
After graduating high school Theo appeared in community theater
productions and was awarded first runner up in the Mr. Bloomingdale
competition for his work in non profit theater groups that donated
ticket sales to fighting illiteracy. He was later admitted to UCLA for
their on camera summer acting intensive program and attended Southern
Illinois university where he graduated with cum laude honors and a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and a Bachelor of Science degree in
English and granted a teaching license. After college Theo spent two
years working as a substitute teacher and was signed with several
talent agencies in Chicago. After two years of auditioning and
substitute teaching Theo began to tire of the limited acting
opportunities Chicago had to offer. He moved to Hollywood with the help
of a former movie studio lighting technician who encouraged him to give
Hollywood a try. Just two months after moving to Hollywood casting
directors and got his first speaking role for television. He was
consistently cast as nerdy, comedic, boy next door type characters for
shows that mainly focus on teenage characters.
