War Machine himself, Don Cheadle, is set to star in the crime thriller Canyon for Alcon Entertainment, taking on the role of a jazz-playing killer. Deadline reports that veteran music video director Colin Tilley, who made his feature directorial debut with Halsey’s concept horror film If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, will be taking of the helm of Canyon, working from a screenplay by John Wick and Nobody writer Derek Kolstad.

The story Kolstad has crafted for this one takes place over the course of one scorching night. Canyon — a part-time jazz musician and full-time killer — finds himself the unlikely protector of a young siren pulled into a turf war between feuding crime families. When you mix crime, murder, and jazz, I immediately think of the 1992 John Woo classic Hard Boiled – which would be a great film for the makers of this movie to draw inspiration from.

The feature, which has Colin Tilley attached to direct with a screenplay by John Wick architect Derek Kolstad, takes place over the course of one scorching night. Canyon — a part-time jazz musician and full-time killer — finds himself the unlikely protector of a young siren pulled into a turf war between feuding crime families.

Producers are Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson and Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and Jeremy Stein, and Kolstad. Karyn Smith-Forge is also producing with Cheadle under their company This Radicle Act.

Cheadle was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for 2005’s Hotel Rwanda. He starred in the Best Picture Oscar-winning movie Crash from Lionsgate and plays Rhodey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and Avengers movies as well as Disney+ series Secret Invasion among other titles.

The feature debut of renowned music video director Colin Tilley will be shopped at the upcoming American Film Market.

“Eye for an Eye,” a sinister revenge horror set in the marshlands of Florida and starring Whitney Peak, is being launched at the market by HanWay Films, which is repping international rights. WME Independent is handling domestic sales.

Colin Tilley, the acclaimed director of music videos for Cardi B, Justin Bieber, and Nicki Minaj, will make his feature debut with “Somewhere in Dreamland.”

Production recently wrapped on the project, which stars Whitney Peak, from “Gossip Girl” and “Hocus Pocus 2,” as well as S. Epatha Merkerson (“Law & Order”), Golda Rosheuvel (“Bridgerton”), Finn Bennett (“True Detective”) and newcomer Laken Giles. Elisa Victoria penned the original graphic novel and the screenplay with Michael Tully.

The horror film follows Anna (Peak), who is grieving the sudden death of her parents when she relocates from New York to a small Florida town to live with the grandmother (Merkerson) she’s never met. Isolated, she falls in with some other teens, but when she becomes a bystander to a shocking act of violence, she finds herself ensnared by Mr. Sandman, who haunts bullies’ dreams before feasting on their eyeballs when they wake up.

Megan Thee Stallion is not biting her tongue in the official music video for “Ungrateful”.

Megan goes on the offense flanked by collaborator Key Glock in the official visuals released on Tuesday. The visuals follows the release of “Ungrateful” as part of Traumazine on Aug. 12.

Machine Gun Kelly is opting for a deep cut with the release of the newest single from his latest full-length, Mainstream Sellout. On Friday, the singer-slash-rapper dropped “More Than Life,” the bonus track on the forthcoming vinyl edition of his chart-topping album, which hits stores June 24.

Halsey has released an extended edition of their recent album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, which features two new tracks. The songs, Nightmare Reprise” and “People disappear here,” join the originals for a 16-track release.

“The extended version of Iichliwp is out now featuring the new and moody ethereal goodness that is ‘People Disappear Here’ plus a @nineinchnails reimagined version of ‘Nightmare,'” the singer noted on Twitter. The new songs follow live renditions of tracks from the album, including “Nightmare,” which Halsey released over the holidays.

Before Halsey dropped her fourth studio album, “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,” she released a film of the same name, set to her new music, in theaters. Now, HBO Max has acquired her album film, and it will debut on the streamer tomorrow, Oct. 7, in the U.S.

“If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power” (the film) has a limited release in Imax theaters starting on Aug. 3, three weeks before the album debuted. It made nearly $1 million at the box office after running in over 70 theaters around the world.

Before giving birth to her own child, Halsey played the young and pregnant Queen Lila in the album film. After a shocking event, Lila unlocks a paranormal power within and discovers her ability to create and end life. The horror-tinged fairytale explores the labyrinth of sexuality and birth.
